I still enjoy watching TUF. The season that Conor coached against Uriah was one of my favorites because of the banter back and forth between those two. I think it had a more jovial feel because they weren't fighting each other at the end of the season. I suspect this season will be a lot of the fake tough guy shtick, unfortunately.

Edit: at least I have someone to pull for this season! Team Hubbard all the way!

It was pretty boring card, overall. Biggest disappointment was Dariush. I thought he would have held his own for a little longer, but he got rag dolled by Oliveira.

 

I agree, I was pretty bummed by that one. I thought really thought that he was going to find a win later in the fight. When things don't always go his way Oliveira tends to get a little crazy and can get himself caught. I don't think losing to the #1 contender should make Dariush drop in rankings and I would like to see him fight the loser of Poirier and Gaethje. If Dana White doesn't want to give Oliveira a shot at Makhachev, then let him fight the winner of Poirier and Gaethje while Makhachev waits.

As much as I was rooting for my hometown guy Nate Landwehr, I wasn't for sure he had the complete set to beat Dan Ige.

It was good to Nunes hang it up. There's really nothing left for her to prove. I think the lost to Pena was a fluke and Pena is trying to run her mouth to make herself relevant while saying that she made Nunes relevant again. Nunes' being irrelevant only had to do with the fact that there was nobody out there to beat her, nobody to challenge her. She made the right choice to go out on top considering the fact that it's my opinion that there isn't a fighter in the top 10 of the women's bantamweight division that can beat her and a rematch with Shevchenko would likely go her way too.

Austins episode airs tonight

 

Austin’s take down defense was on point. Total domination on the ground.

 

Just had a chance to watch Austin's episode last night. I was a little nervous going into it because the thumbnail on ESPN+ shows McKenzie flexing during the weigh ins and I thought that might be foreshadowing a win for him. Once I saw Austin hit him with that nice uppercut and then a knee to the face, I felt a lot more comfortable that Austin would get the W.

 

Was a good fight….. I’ll take it

 

It’s been a long time since I watched TUF. But now I have a good reason to.
Austin did a great job on both rounds. That uppercut and knee near the end of the 1st made me jump…lol
My little girls didn’t get why I was pacing around the living room during the fights but that’s okay.

On another note, I wonder if team McG is going to get cleaned out.
