    Morning all:

See, a couple of us are trying to help you guys out by trying to thin out the deer heard, looks like we aren't doing a good enough job!
Glad you didn't hit the deer Chuck, and sure glad that the other driver didn't run you over, that would really be bad!

Geez, now I'm getting a gots to do list, those take priority to my to do lists!
Just ordered OEM front disc pads for the Tacoma, the guy who inspects it said I will need to replace them before the next inspection.

A little something every chance we get.
Well, preparation is still good. Didn't need the towel - still overcast, hot and humid. Got the header cut and installed. A dimension they dont give is that the bins are 3" deep. Get just about 7" under the cover to use. Still have access to the cubbies. Put some of "stuff" back in the truck. Now, where are those jumper cables?

Some years back: Foggy morning, three guys in a truck had a dead deer in the back of their pickup. Poor visibility, so traffic was a crawl that morning.

Someone had hit a larger dear, still on the side of the road. They pulled over, unloaded the small dead deer, and loaded the larger one.

That large buck probably fed a family for a few months, so it was a good use.

Texas outlawed picking up road kill in 2007. Bill had other intentions, shooting a game from a moving or parked vehicle, but verbiage included any game from the roadway.

In Arizona the driver hitting a deer, elk, turkey or javelina could keep the meat.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/deer slayers. My niece has an interesting deer story. A car in front of hers hit the animal, which flew up in the air, over that car, and into hers. The deer came through her windshield and landed in the back seat of her car, where it kicked and bled and died, causing her car to be totaled. She emerged unscathed. I am not making this up.

Ha! That was me yesterday. Wife's CRV needed to go to the dealer for a recall, and she's been thinking about replacing it, so we decided to risk walking into the showroom. A very nice young lady offered to get a price for her old car while we gawked at the sparse offerings in the showroom; apparently inventory is still low. After a longish wait we told her we'd be back later to pick up the car and could meet up with her at that time. She liked the idea, gave her more time to get the valuation done.

We went back yesterday to pick up the car, and went to find our salesperson. She wasn't in yet but another fellow offered to help us. He took the keys and my wife's driver's license and went to make a copy of it. 45 minutes later he was still nowhere to be found, and steam was emanating from the sides of my head. I started talking loudly. People started doing things. They finally found the guy, who had wandered off to have the car valued at a sister dealership! The other salesperson never had it done, despite having had all day to do it. He gave us back our keys as I glared at him. "Where is the driver's license?" Oh, yeah", he said and dug it out of his pants pocket. Then he got defensive -- did we have an appointment? Like this was our fault! I guess I'm getting soft because I just said "this is just a misunderstanding all the way around" and we walked out. Never to return. Lehigh Valley Honda for anyone nearby; don't waste your time or energy going there.

Now let me tell you about the other half of the day. We went from the Honda disaster over to the Lexus dealer, where I had had a really good experience a few years ago when I bought a CPO GS350 from them. It was like night and day. Friendly people, a very quick valuation of her CRV, actual vehicles to look at in the meantime, snacks too. The car she was interested in turns out to be a pretty hot item, and inventories are still low there too, so they have a "wish list" of people waiting for them to come in. However there was one they were getting soon that everyone on that list had passed on, and -- incredibly -- it was the exact spec she was looking for! Right colors, right options. Kismet.

So, yes, my wife is getting a new car. I almost never buy new cars because I tend to get bored and want something different and I would take a real bath due to initial depreciation. So I buy old used stuff. But she keeps a car until it cries uncle! So she'll get her money's worth out of this one, just like the rest. And we'll both finally get some firsthand experience with all of the tech they've added to vehicles since we last bought one. Should be interesting.

Good morning all. In ND of you hit a deer you can call the state police and get a harvest tag for it, No charge. But you can't take it with out. Another oddity is if you hit and don't kill and it is suffering you can't put it out of it's pain without permission from the state police either.

I've had horse..... But didn't know at the time. I was a teenager and the fast food joint we liked was fined heavy for calling it beef. It closed shortly afterwards.
