The fluid should be fine, then. There is air in the system, most likely. The question is how did it get there. You could try bleeding with a a MityVac. If the problem still exists, I'd check for rips/ tears in the cup seals in the master cylinder and in the piston seals in the rear caliper, and replace banjo bolt crush washers for good measure.

I think the piston is pitted because the seals are new. So i got a kit from moose racing that replaces the piston and seals together. I’ll try that, and maybe rebuild the caliper too

I guess I just don't get the mini bike thing. I think they're neat, don't get me wrong, but for what they cost and the mods you can get a bike that out performs it. If you love the journey of modding stuff then it makes sense, though. I'm just not wired that way anymore.

It isn’t really too much money if first you buy the bike used. Then the mods you spend maybe $600-$800 and it’s a super fun little ripper. It’s not meant for a primary bike it’s just more of a fun toy. It’s hard to explain but they are a blast to fly around on.

They just bring such a shit eating grin to your face every time you hop on one. You feel like a kid on your first pedal bike. It's not about top speed or performance, but more so smiles per gallon. And modding them is part of the fun, too, for sure. They're like 1/4 the price to mod compared to any of my large bikes, as well.

If it was my only bike it wouldn't make sense, but when you have a high or mid performance bike that'll do highways well, mini bikes are just a hoot and a half to have as an option

That suspension is going to feel so incredible compared to the stock setup. What weight oil are you going with for the front?

I have 15w for the front with 6.5nmm springs. I got the same set up for the monkey also. Just need to install both sets.
The rear shock feels real good.

    This right here.

Absolutley wouldnt have a grom/navi/monkey as my only bike. If i had to have ONE bike it would be some light/middleweight bike like a CB500X

But having the big street bike, a proper dirtbike, the grom is just great for around town fun, its like a legal pit bike.

Thats what I went with for my non-adjustable racing bros front. Feels really, really good. If I were to do it again I MIGHT go 10w or try reducing the preload spacers I put in.

Interested in your thoughts on the suspension. I was leaning towards racing bros

So far with the grom the rear shock seems much more stable. Not bouncing anymore. On the Monkey I used the mnnthbx rear shocks and they perform about the same. More stable and no more bouncing. I need to get motivated and do the fronts.

I'm 230ish. Keep in mind my kit just did the 6.5nm springs, I still have the stock cartridges. I'm guessing the Racing Bro's cartridges are going to feel really different.

Link to follow along on my upcoming Iron Butt ride.

    https://new.spotwalla.com/trip/41ef-2e570cc-ddce/view

Memorial Saddlesore ride for a friend/coworker who passed away last year at 57 years young. Riding to The Gay Bar on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, 1063 miles in under 24 hours then taking a few hours to sleep before heading straight to Hell, MI hoping to be at 1500+ miles in under 36 hours for a Bun Burner certificate as well.
I can't think of a better way to remember my friend than going to the Gay Bar then straight to Hell during Pride month. He would have approved.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Sounds like a ride to remember:)
