I knew a guy that wanted to build a street rod. All kinds of mods, mechanical and cosmetic. Nothing would do except he find the most pristine car he could find and spend the money to get it... and then he cut it up and made something that was so modified it was hard to sell and would never be driven again. He could have begun with a less than average car... but no... nothing but the best. A waste of money and a really nice car. Some people just have to throw away value, money and nice iron, or they don't feel like they've appeared cool enough to those they brag to. It's funny how to people that have too much money... they have to overspend or they don't feel like they've spent enough.
Ever since my friend tore that very nice car apart for no good reason it just pisses me off when I see someone do the same thing. I know, I know... it's their money. But f**k that. They ruined what many people would cherish.

I get that. I'm just trying to give the benefit of the doubt to someone I don't know.

I went through something like that with the vintage Honda motorcycle I own. It would have made a really nice cafe racer but once I took possession of it and really began looking it over I realized it was too original to butcher like that so I did it as more of a light restoration to retain as much originality as possible.

Looking at how nice that looks, it must have really been something to see one of these new the 1st year they came of the line. That goes for most any pony or muscle car. Just looking at the front of this Camaro and how the grill looks like the one most likely found on %rany other ordinary car. While the rest of the front end looks like nothing else on the road, except for a Trans Am.

Consider this, most of the pony cars and muscle cars that have become iconic in looks and design have a nose cone with the hood inside the front facia. The ones with the hood that extended all the way to the front in my opinion aren’t as sexy.
Both 1st & 2nd gen Camaros had a nose cone.
CUDA E-Body had a nose cone yet the Challenger didn’t.,
    GTO’s had a nose cone.
Early Vettes had a nose cone.
    Etc.
Just a much cleaner sexier look in my opinion.

Judging by the lights and trim, I think this is a '67, same as my first ride.

Mine was nowhere nearly as built (High school and college budget), but I did take it to all sorts of great out of the way spots in Wyoming and Montana!
