Aftermarket wheel hub bore too big for spare tire holder fix ?

I bought some old aluminum 15" rims to put some 31.10X15 tires on. Problem I face was that the bore on new rim was too wide for spare tire carrier. After searching through many forums I found one that suggested cutting out the center of a rim with correct bore size. Many sparks later (Dewalt grinder) Walla, Spare is where it needs to b. Seems to be snug, time will tell how well it works.
