I've been reading through posts for about the last two hours and haven't seen someone with this setup and wanted to get some additional opinions.

I've got an 02 Tacoma, with no special mods or heavy bumpers upfront. I needed new strut assemblies, so picked up the billy5100's and just went with Wheeler's T1 coils springs (620 lb/in) to match with it (keeping things cost-effective).

Setup is here: My goal is for around a 2-2.5" inch lift on stock control arms. Already covered ball joints, etc.

I made the mistake of ordering them assembled on the highest notch. They ride like crap. The shop is going to drop them down to the lower notch for me.

Question is, should I drop them down to the stock setting (lowest notch) and just let the spring take on the lift? Or should I use the middle setting? (I have the 5100's with three notches)

From what I'm reading, I'm thinking the lowest setting would be best for the ride, but again, can't find any other posts with this setup.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

    ~~ Tim

I was able to get ahold of the folks over at Wheelers, so putting their reply here in case someone in the future needs it.

With this setup, put the 5100s at the lowest (stock) clip. The springs for first gens should provide up to a 3" lift.

So, 5100's at stock (lowest) setting with Wheeler's T1 coils.

Looking forward to getting a decent ride back. Too bad these lessons cost money, lol.

Kansas_Taco thanks for the info on the 5100s/T1s. I am looking at doing the exact front setup. How does it ride? Anything you would do differently?

I'm also interested in how they ride. Haven't been able to find much feedback but I'm about to pair same coils with eibach pro shocks for a 2010 tacoma...
