Too much sealant on the oil pan is not going to cause Low Oil Pressure.

How did you read the oil pressure, there is no gauge.

If you have an Oil Pressure Light illuminated on the combination meter then I would look at the Oil Pressure sending switch which only provides a ground for the light when the pressure is low.

You may just have a damaged Oil Pressure Switch wire that is grounded. Here is the circuit:

The oil pressure sensor is right next to the oil filter.
See if it’s plugged in or the wires are damaged.

Did you do the upper and lower pans?
Did you get the gasket and O-Ring for the oil pickup installed?

OP, you can disregard the post above.
    Evidently I can’t read today.
    You have a 2.7, not a 4.0
    Sorry about that.

I bet your sensor is messed up..if you had 0psi at idle it wouldn't take very long before your engine became a grenade.

Is it possible you missed this o-ring when reinstalling the upper pan? The oil pickup also has a gasket that if missed would be bad for oil pressure

If you want to add an oil pressure gauge, you can run one of these tees and add an aftermarket digital gauge to confirm pressure. The oil pressure sensor is here on the passenger side of the engine

Are you 4wd? If you have a PreRunner you can pull and swap both upper and lower pans with the motor in the truck. I have done this a couple of times and it’s a tight fit but you can just barely do it.

If you are 4wd you could drop the front diff instead of pulling the engine again if you need to drop the pans

How did the oil pickup look when you had it out? And are you sure that got torqued down properly? I hate to say it, but I’d probably start by dropping the lower pan only and take a look at things if the wiring looks good

What kind of pressures are you seeing at idle, cold and hot?
