It's a "listen to people who do this for a living instead of pulling opinions out of your ass" scenario. ;) ;)

Had some paint chipping on the edge and it was sent under warranty. Didn't get around to changing it out before selling the truck.

Someone asked me why I made the choice I did - liked the idea of easier connections

In my personal view (means you can't sue me) - this stiffener has a dual track which provides more tie down options. That being said - in all the mistakes I've made in life, if this is a mistake, it's not a big deal...

Not to throw gas on a fire here but looking at material cross sections the bed itself is more likely to fail before any of the stiffeners. I have total chaos and am happy with how they installed/how stiff they feel, I don't have my cap yet but it seems unlikely I will have any issues. If your looking for data look for how many people had a bed failure with a stiffener installed. I wanted stiffeners that were more out of the way so I went with total chaos. Its a feature!....?

FWIW I had a 2007 for 7 years with a cap on the whole time with no stiffeners and never had an issue. I loaded up the rack on top with lumber as well.

yeah, i don't think it's a matter of how much gusseting would be strongest but rather, how much is sufficient. it's reinforcement.

I’ve been using TC stiffeners since I got my SmartCap over a year and half ago. I’ve been hard on the truck and no sign of bed fatigue. I do have to retighten the 10mm bolts on the cap once in a while but no major issues so far. I also went with the TC since they were less intrusive and readily available when I needed them. They seem to be more than sufficient.

Faulty side doors replaced by RSI. I can report that they are secure and I am unable to open them when they are locked as I was able to do previously. Many thanks to Mike and Dan from Mike's Custom Toys and the great customer support at RSI.

I like the black handles. Have you considered doing the mirrors as well?

    Yes

I just put the blue seas panel in so I could finally power it up. Still temporary with the cigarette plug because I’ll hardwire it in the bed box

That’s pretty cool. Do you have a link? How many bars in your setup?

No link but I bought them from GTFO (I forget the name but that’s the acronym, even sent a sticker with that ). 3 bars, I think 2x 39” and 1 19”. I didn’t want a lot of excessive wires so they also gave me a huge assortment of different lengths and it worked great. I also sourced the same 1” sq zip tie mounts (that rsi uses for the 3rd brake light) and that’s how I mounted/ran the wires. Although I had to redo it since because the tape used is complete garbage, just cleaned it off and applied 3m vhb tape instead. I can get some daytime pictures tomorrow if you like.

1 remote/switch but the way I ran the wires and mounted will allow me to add a separate switch per light if I wanted without messing with the wires already mounted.

Very cool. Looks like Call of Duty in your truck bed. Throw on some NODS and get kitted out back like you're prepping for a raid.

Awesome! That was enough info to find them: https://gtfoverland.com/collections/hard-korr-lighting/products/39-inch-led-camping-light

I have LED tape lights now, but the heat is causing the adhesive to fail; I might have to redo it with 3m stuff too.

Dumped the Tacoma, that's all it needed.
Just got the call that the EVOa that I ordered 10 months ago for a 5 foot bed will be arriving at the dealer today.

I cannot stand my Tacoma and have zero desire to put any money into it at all.

So, if you are in the Phoenix area and looking to get an in stock evoa, call Arizona Truck Pro’s in Glendale and they will get you taken care of.
