    Vehicle:
    15 TRD OffRoad
    TRD Supercharger and more.
    I had a plan for my 2003 DCSB TRD OffRoad, I had the money saved up.
    * Rear shock relocation
    * boxing in frame
    * supercharger w/7th injector
    * Meth injection
    * Full remote reservoirs all around with clicky-bits
    * Seat swap
    * Sound system
    and more...

    Then I saw an accident where a new crossover was t-boned by a F350+ or other US brand equivalent towing a 40' flatbed gooseneck trailer and when I rolled up to them 30 seconds later, the occupants weren't immediately dead since they had all of the airbags - curtain, front, whatnot.

    I took that budget and spent an additional $5k and got a 2015 supercharged with all the mods and more that I was planning (and then didn't need on a 2nd gen). Now I have a much more comfortable, faster, modern truck with a better engine/transmission pairing (The 5VZ with the 4-speed auto really sucked in the Colorado mountains, redline in 2nd gear just to maintain 50mph? Ridiculous).

    Oh, and this was almost 2 years ago and I have zero regrets about getting rid of the 1st gen. The only regret is that back in 2014 that I had just went to Toyota and bought my current 2015 off the lot.

    150k original brakes, clutch. Only things changed other than the oil were power steering pump and timing belt. Oh and the tires. She was an 03. Bad frame. Still miss her.

    268k miles. Needs the whole gambit minus timing belt and waterpump. When I have the space I'll park it and make a build thread. Frame was replaced and barely driven in winter but salt is a b*tch even just one time out. I'll never get rid of this truck. I've wanted one since I was 17 years old. Took til 31 but I got one. It's mine forever.

    Never. Way too many hours and memories invested now. May need to switch cabs or something eventually if I ever roll it but the truck is still going to keep going somehow.

    I know this is an old thread but any older vehicle will always be worth more for transportation than the “value” that an automobile association wil place on it (eg KBB or NADA).
    Although prices for used vehicles, and in particular tacomas, are currently insane, I always laugh when I hear someone say they wouldn’t pay $1000 to fix a truck that’s only “worth” $3k. You mean to tell me it’s worth it for you to pay -$40k on a $35k truck that you've financed because it has more “value”? I’m sorry but that just doesn’t count as logic to me.

    To answer the question though, when I have to consistently work on the vehicle 4 weekends out of 8 then it’s time to move on. It’s just not worth my time but please don’t follow the majority and buy a new car every 4 or 5 years just because the dealers want you to. That’s just plain stupid, unless you’re a rich lawyer in which case you probably ain’t too bright no how.

    Just my $.02.

    perhaps once all 50 states have been wheeled upon. Truck has 10 left to go.
    Hawaii may pose a challenge
    And then those Canadian provinces... wheeled 3 so far

    Like my signature says, I'll keep my Tacoma until it dies, or I die, or they stop selling gas.

    All kinds 3 inch body lift/2 1/2 suspension lift. 31/11 1/2/15 tires All work done by myself for years. The only work performed by mechanic was fuel pumps. I also have a 90 Mustang 350 hp and I can never understand how come my Tacoma gets more respect Just got a 99 Jeep TJ that I rebuilt, and painted in the garage
    The way we love our Tacomas presents a problem if anything ever happens to them. I have almost snuffed out my front end in the rain a few times. I have a nice Foxbody Mustang. 99 Jeep TJ pretty custom, and the Tacoma gets more thumbs up than any of my cars

    The truck as my family calls it just runs, and runs. I keep up the maintenance myself. No need to call it quits. No new car payment, it does what I need it to do, and I like driving it.

    I think It’s safe to say the only way it’s called quits is if it’s no longer in the family or no longer driveable right?

    In one weekend while out running errands, I got two “nice truck”s, one inquiry to see if I would sell and a thumbs up from a woman with a crew cut and neck tattoos in a Jeep.
