"Socket Size" for Rear Diff fluid change??

Hello, I jumped the gun.... Getting ready to post up on the " What have you done to your Tacoma?" Thread....
Have the oil & pump to do rear Diff oil change when i slipped under ole girl, Placed the largest metric socket i have, 22mm to find out it's a "Fail"... I don't do much wrenching so just want to buy that one socket or if Harbor Freight has a set with Large sizes, i have a couple nice sockets sets for most minor jobs..

15/16th is 23.8125mm so i could see that

 

Consider a six-point socket on these plugs. Small surface area plus corrosion/infrequent removal can cause unpleasantness if the tool slips.

is the fill and drain plugs rear the same size 24mm

Little advice be sure in the future to break that fill plug loose first before draining it. I’ve saw ppl drain then find out they couldn’t get the fill plug out for whatever reason.

 

would be nice to know what size the plug is to get a replacement ,, anybody know the correct thread and plug size ? 2004 tacoma 2 wheel drive , rear differential

 

Toyota still sells them brand new; just order online or go to your Toyota dealer

You do an engine swap? Your info states 2.2 liter...

Six point: Definitely: On everything under there: rear diff/Xfer case/front diff: That's six chances for a slip. I would add use PB Blaster on all of them a day or two before and again the day you do them. Give them a few light taps with a small hammer.
