Brand new Softopper 3 weeks old. Fits perfect no issues there. Noticed some water on the bed mat Monday morning after some rain. Last night they were calling for rain so when it started I hopped in the back under the Softopper to see where it leaked.

My front corner bed seal job worked perfectly.

There were no leaks either in the Softopper itself or along any of the seams.

The leaks or rather fast drips if you will were all coming from the straps on the inside that you use to tie up the sides and the rear. So I have 6 points of drippage. Not a damn sight of a drip or drop anywhere else.

So when it rains the strap on the outside is getting wet and absorbing water that is being pulled through to the inside and soaking the strap there before dripping. And it’s quite a lot of water with all 6 dripping.

Have an email in to Softopper but thought I’d see if anyone else has this issue.

    Just some stuff...
You should’ve received a tube of seam sealer with your softopper. Those straps act like wicks. Just soak the heck out of them from the inside. Make sure you do it from inside because they will leave a bit of a stain.

I think I have the same issue. No sure what you’re calling “straps”, but mine is leaking under the plastic that goes over the metal that covers the edge of bed. The part the softopper mounts too/sits on. Seem like when I tightened the clamps, the edge lifted up allowing water to seep in. Have you found a solution? Thinking about loosening clamps a bit? Or seal between bed and bed rail covers? Thanks.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
    Funny,

The installation folder that came with my soft topper noted that the tie straps should get the seam sealer generously.

Maybe I imagined the entire thing, but the Softopper on my rig doesn't drip. Lucky I guess.

Never had issues with mine leaking. TBPH, it was more dry in the Softopper than it is in the contractor shell I have now. Pretty sure it's because the front end of the Softopper extends down below the top of the bedsides.
