Logistical issues? Hard to say, sometimes business decisions make no sense. Just unfortunate the 2022 hood decal is not even available as an option at the moment (everything else is).

Since the badges and decals are applied at the factory I wonder what they gain from making the Canadian ones different?

Oddly enough, I live in the states and my imported 2019 Tacoma TRD pro has been throwing me for a loop lately too. I was considering selling it and a local dealer in the states claimed it wasn't a TRD pro based on the VIN, but a TRD off-road. I tried calling Toyota US and they were pretty unhelpful (customer service girl told me the difference from TRD pro to TRD off-road was engine). I called Toyota Canada and got a helpful person named Jennifer who looked into the database and identified that based on my VIN it was in fact a TRD Pro (based off the fact that it had the suffix "TA" which the T stood for TRD Pro limited production, the difference in Canada is how they market it on the window sticker as a package option. Very confusing. Toyota Canada has certainly made things more confusing than they need to be.

I have found the Toyota.ca website to be shite. I called Toyota Canada & expressed my feelings & my experiences. While the Toyota.com site is great, right down to the detail of showing you by zip code which dealers have your desired car in stock…and even if there is an offer pending. I am shocked to learn that the Canadian Pro has some differences. Especially since I laid down a deposit for a ‘23 Pro today, and now it seems the truck I thought I was buying actually is a bit different that their marketing would have one believe. I ordered a Charcoal Grey and if it arrives with chrome badging on the door that isn’t going to go over so well. As for the black decal/map for behind the hood scoop I did a little digging on the US dealer parts sites, and it doesn’t really list it although I did come up with a part number PT747-35220-02 that does in fact say hood decal, although no image and no detail. When I google that part number this is one of the hits that come up, a non Toyota part however looks similar….https://supdec.com/catalog?product_...CpTuvh8hVeiXGNanMUWlAZsKh-bpldT6098MuRqc5v4HE
I would encourage every Canadian to call the Toyota number as I did, and get into a conversation in regards to how crap the Canadian website is & how the USA website actually works. The lady was very good, and actually typed out our whole conversation to ‘hand off’ to the filing bin? Maybe, but she was good. I articulated many things…one being I can’t replace my ‘02 manual transmission accesscab sunroof, which had a few goodies added at the dealer when new of which leather was one of them and it is a very special seems impossible to recreate in the offering since truck. Gunna be hard to replace SuperTaco, but it’s getting pretty high km and I think it’s best to do it while I can still reasonably modify & wrench on a current 2023 truck myself. I can even get stupid and put a Magnuson on it if I miss that feeling too much. https://youtu.be/oYSU6iMz1SQ
