    Hello,

I discovered this forum while researching Tacoma’s. My mind is in serious overload - wish the process could be simpler…this package has this, but I don’t want that and so on and so on. Leaning towards the SR5 or Sport.

my current truck is a 2012 Tundra which my family refers to as a garage queen (71,000 miles on it, perfect condition and outfitted the way I wanted) I’m just ready for better mpg, more technology and a smaller footprint in the garage. It will be bittersweet when I make the change as I actually like the looks of the Tundra better, but….

Anyway, I’ve enjoyed the info I’ve found on this site.

Big Welcome to TW. :hattip:I guess it all depends on how much load you’re haulin’. Load up a Taco & mileage suffers all the same.

Better get the 4cyl it's the only truck that gets better gas mileage.

Thanks! I will be towing a (3,700 lb boat, motor, trailer, fuel and gear) about 12 times a year, but other than those days, it’s basically a grocery getter.

Get a V6. You’ll be thankful when towing.

And the fuel economy is fine on the V6. At least without any crazy mods.

He didn't say anything about towing before. The 4cyl isn't going to be great at that. Might as well keep the Tundra. I wouldn't even be concerned with truck mpgs if I'm launching a boat a few weekends a year.

Double cab long box tacomas are as long as most tundras, so make sure to get a short box if you want a smaller footprint.

Those 5.7 tundras are starting to get serious problems with big bills, its not a bad idea to switch up now.

Not gonna get me to give up my Tundra. I could never go back to using my Tacoma for towing.

The difference in mpg isn't enough for me to take the Taco vs the Tundra on trips.

I tow a 18 foot camper 14 mpg is about it but I really don't think buying a Tacoma was a economy choice or really a truck in general.

How much you want for the Tundra? I need to replace my current '08.
