Coolant smell after running?

Tried the search but didn’t see much else about this so,I’m curious but seems that on warmer days after running I occasionally get a whiff of coolant in the garage after shutting the truck down. I honestly haven’t ever noticed it on anything I’ve owned in the past so immediatley figured there must be a leak somewhere but I look in and under the truck and see no leaks or obvious signs of a leak/spilled coolant. Truck has about 4K miles on it and if it were running hot or showing obvious signs of a leak it would be an immediate trip to the dealer. Any of you noticed such a thing on your 3rd gen? I’m wondering if its not just vapor of some sort from the overflow jug

For reference it’s a 3.5 TRD OR 4X4

 

Yeah I get the occasional whiff. I think it's from the Expansion tank. Just keep an eye on your level.

 

When COLD, check the radiator cap and make sure there is not dirt or grime on the rubber gasket. Your 16lb system might be operating at 14.349 lol. Misting off a little early.

It's pretty few and far between. At first I thought it was my crossover pipe. All seems well though

 

That’s the best I could figure myself so far the level has stayed consistent so unless I see a change I’m not wasting time with the dealer

 

You're good. It will fluctuate some, based on coolant temp but I think you'll be alright

 

Mine will smell when its pretty hot weather. I had dealer check and after pressure check was told it's "normal".
The level doesn't seem to go down, but I smell it pretty often.
Didn't happen on my previous 3 Tacomas, but this is the year for the new normal...

 

It's quite normal, the newer Camrys are worse. The overflow tank cap design.

 

I'm low on coolant it's on the low mark got the truck a year ago with 55k it has 67k on it now and I've smelled coolant twice since I've own owned it is this normal? Maybe the coolants never been changed since new and it evaporated over time?

 

only way to know is to fill it up and keep an eye on it.

 

The tube that connects to the overflow tank is known to leak a little, and there’s no clamp from the factory, just a rubber hose stuck on a nipple. I put a hose clamp on mine 2 years ago and no more coolant loss or smell.
