Im looking for something that will go on my bumper on grill, something similar to a bull bar, but i dont know cause the bull bars make the truck look lower in my opinion. i like the smittybilt grille saver but i dont know. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. also i would like PICTURES, and i want to see what that smittybilt one looks like on a tacoma if anyone out there has one. thanks alot!:D

What are you looking for protection from because bull bars won't take much of a hit. Most bend fairly easily. They're good for a light mounting location and that's about all I'd expect from it. There are some grille guards, like a Ranch Hand, that are pretty hefty that would provide protection to a degree. I've got a cheaper Hunter grille guard which is good for mounting lights, but again, I wouldn't expect it to do much it I hit anything with it.

I'm starting to feel like a broken record because of this, but what about the Avid Bar? Much stronger than bull bar, gives you more protection (strength wise and area wise), and gives you a good position for lights. Check out my gallery so you can see what it looks like on a Silver Sport DC.

I want the Avid light bar. It is going to be the next thing I add to my truck. I use to like bull bars and brush guards, but after reading threads about them, I think the light bar is almost the same strength.

Hunter 4x4: Just put it on. Seems to be good quality, I like the looks (the see through bottom doesn't make it seem lower), and it was only $135 shipped.

Hey, those look really sharp, looking at picking up some daylighters for my tacoma. Ive got an aries grille guard (looks very similar to you and I think your lights fit perfectly. What size are those lights? (sorry if this has already been asked) I was gonna guess 6" but I wanted to be sure

    Thanks
