Rear window got smashed in and had some gifts stolen this weekend... A good tip I received from the window installer: don't fiddle with rolling the (nonexistent) window up or down -- It can mess up the actuator :homer: (Didn't happen to me but something I can def see happening out of curiosity)

    $225 Down the sh|tter :spending:

Shitty? Definitely. But that price doesn't sound insane. But I'm not seeing metal pry mark damage and it sounds like the actuator is okay. That can't be cheap for parts and labor.

Oh yeah man this guy was a pro -- had me wrapped up same day in ~20 minutes. Honestly never dealt with this so I was half expecting something north of $500. My guess is that they managed to tug the window down just enough to then yank it outwards. The tint made it easy I suppose, as most of it was held together on the floor :poking:

Damn dude, sorry to see this happening to you. I had the driver's side window broken out of my F-250 and a GPS stolen, back when they were over 1k, only time I ever left it plugged in and not in the console. Out of town on a Sunday, drove home 5 hours in the rain, it sucked tremendously! Hope you got yours fixed under better conditions.

I hate to say it, but it's an unfortunate sign of the times. I left for a five day trip last week and on the first day my buddy (who lives less than a mile away from me) informed me that two of his neighbors had their trucks stolen. They were found later that day a street over with the CATs cut out (Scrap metal yard is just down the street, SMFH). Few days later the neighbor across from me had their window smashed in. I live in Central Jersey. Good luck and be safe ladies and gentlemen.

    1. Look at your surroundings (for someone watching) when you access the back seat.
    2. I carry a black bath towel to cover things in the back seat.

Leave nothing in the truck. Buzzards are busting in for change. Real pieces of shit.

Sign of the times and only getting worse it seems. Be thankful you or a loved one weren’t in the car at the time. Here in NO car jackings are the thing not just break ins. They’ll haul you out of the seat, drag you down the road for a few blocks, run over you in the process, and leave you to croak at the curb. Keep wondering when people will have had enough of it.

Tint doesn't stop prying eyes anymore. Take your smart phone, turn on camera, press to window and you can see everything as if no tint is on window. Doesn't mater how dark the tint.

    That sucks, sorry to see.

My father in law just had his truck stolen last week while in Colorado on vacation.

Thief only made it about 1000 yards before getting pulled over for a traffic violation. Probably ran a red light or stop sign. Anyways, he had a warrant, got arrested, truck got towed and they were able to pick it up within two days from it being stolen. Nothing missing from the truck and no damage. Only found a cigarette butt on the floor board was all. Crazy though. Thinks they stole the key FOB signal.

Sorry to hear about your truck. Karma will get 'em.

Yep, we are slowly turning into a country where most hardworking folks will live in a gated communities.

What state do you live. That is cheap. Sorry about your issue.
were your windows tinted? Seemed like smash and grab. I live in the ghetto anytime I put anything of value or put it on the floor in the backseat with a blanket on it even with tinted windows usually thieves don’t smash windows just because. No excuse just making a statement. Nothing worse than to have someone steal gifts from the heart meant for someone else to be taken by some asshole.

Happened in Austin, TX, AKA San Francisco Jr. The windows were tinted at about 20% -- Gonna have to start covering my stuff like you do
