Here's the load bars. They're sticking out over the passenger side more, intentionally, so that I can mount my awning there.

Nope. Looks like I can move the gas spring over. About to try it.
    20230523_170540.jpg 20230523_170600.jpg

Edit: even after I moved it it still hits a little. It should clear the awning when open though so I'm not concerned. My next option would be to actually totally rotate the brackets and switch the front and back ones. This would make what is currently the closest mounting point all the way out at the end of the bracket.

anyone try removing the rear window/full door thing?

im wondering how easy that would be. if i wanted to take it off to have larger items over the tailgate, would it be straight forward?

or is there a way to lock the gas springs?

Since I'm already out in the driveway...
Yeah looks like you can. The cab part is riveted but the window itself is just on some hex pin bolts. Might mess up the black seal stuff though.

The gas spring is pretty rigid at full lock. I wouldn't even bother to take the window off unless you're worried about it getting scratched by whatever you're hauling. Considering how high up it swings I'd think its pretty safe from almost anything

Got mine installed today. The only issue I’ve noticed was that my rear hatch only opens to 90*. Going back a few pages, it looks like maybe some were shipped with the wrong gas struts? Hoping that shouldn’t be too much drama to get sorted out.

I dig it though. It will take a bit to get used to the new blind spot, but it’s a bit of a trade off for a bit more security.IMG_1500.jpgIMG_1503.jpg

What inserts are you using to bolt the Lear feet into the alu cab rail into? I was on a bit of a wild goose chase trying to find something that worked. Eventually found some threaded inserts for the M30 euro standard t slot in M6 that worked my setup... They are Amazon/china direct though and would like to find something a bit more rugged.

Curious as to why you didn't run an inverted M8 carriage bolt and then just run a nut down onto the leer feet/mounta(unless you couldn't clear a m8 bolt in the through hole of the leer feet)

    Thanks!

I added area lighting around my camper.

    (4) BD S2 Sports in Amber with Work/Scene lenses all wired to one switch on a SwitchPro SP9100.

I don't have any nighttime pictures yet, but I'll get some soon. It lights up the area around the camper very well.

Rears mounted on the top of the molle panel, angled to spill light towards the rear of the truck as well.

Sides mounted up under the tent on the two side panels.

Planning to cop a contour canopy from OK4wd. Anyone who’s ordered recently have any insight into current lead time??

Also - anyone have the contour with windows and the security grids all around? Curious to see what it looks like all installed!

I can't help much, but I'd advise just putting down a deposit and try to forget about it for a while. Mine took a few months with a delay thrown in for good measure. I got the windowless version of the Contour. Don't you have to rivet the security grid to the door? Initially I was interested, but unless I read it wrong, you had to add that feature yourself. The longer you wait to order, the further down the wait list you will go. Good luck!

When did you order? I ordered one earlier this month and hoping to get it by August. Am I misleading myself?

It looks like I ordered back in 02/17/23 and it came in about mid May. I got it installed on 05/23.

It really just depends. The best bet is to call around and see when they expect a delivery. Most places that sell them seem to have standing orders. Then, put some money down if it hasn't been reserved for anyone yet. I think mine took a month longer because east-coast inventory tracking showed a "blinders" version Contour in the 5 foot bed, but something else showed up off the boat.

Use the wait time to prep the bed to get ready for your cool new canopy!

Yessir that exactly what I did, just put a deposit down for a windowless contour as well. ETA is August so we’ll see. But heres the install guide for the security grid for the contour. From my understanding it differs from the explorer grid.
