    Good morning all,

I hope all is well. I am having an intermittent issue starting my 2001 V6 Tacoma. I emailed myself a video and compressed it to be able to upload it to the site so you guys can see what I'm talking about

    Parameters & conditions of issue:

    1. I turn the key, wait for the 5 beeps, and try to start. Nothing happens. It does not crank.

    2. I take the key out, restart step 1 for 4 or 5 times.

*Sometimes it starts on the second try, sometimes on the 9th.
*Sometimes I will go out and wiggle the battery cables. (I haven't found that to work) There is some repetitive corrosion on the positive terminal. Sometimes I clean it off but that has not correlated to more consistent starts.
*Sometimes it will crank exactly like normal and just cut out before starting.
*When it does eventually start it runs great and for the rest of the day has no issues.
*Battery was checked less than a year ago and was in good shape.
*This problem started last year and was VERY infrequent, now about once or twice a week I have this issue.
    *Headlights work under all conditions

Battery cable? Starter? Battery itself? I'm about as handy as an amputee so I'll be bringing it to a shop but the problem isn't replicable on demand and I don't want them to mess about while draining my wallet...

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
First Clean those Battery Terminals !!

I had a no crank Issue from unseen corrosion!!

    Break out the Meter.

A Battery can be fine today and fail the next day.

It might be any or all of the starting system Issues.

Plus the neutral safety switch or starter relay. Unseen Corroded battery cables.

By there nature Intermittent Electrical problems are expensive to trouble shoot.

You can limit trouble shooting to an hour have it on paper.

If you were close I would help no friends have the electrical skills

    Good Luck !
