Had an errand to run, kinda rolled my lunch into it, and when I was dropping stuff off at the house I couldn't help it. Grabbed the gear and rode the bike to work. I love this thing!

Iron Pony is in a former K-Mart super center store. It is huge! Family owned business, been around that area for probable 40 years. In that building maybe 5-7 years?

All I know is that this is the biggest motorcycle shop I have ever seen! Absolutely massive with incredible inventory, selection, and from what I saw prices. I bought a new pair of medium weight, waterproof gloves from Oxford for $24.99. Haven't tested them yet but definitely needed a new pair so time will tell.

Seller is asking $4300, I’m hoping he’ll come down to $4k. Seems to be pretty fair pricing compared to other options out there.

planning to go pick it up tomorrow evening unless any of you see any reason to run from it

Don’t know anyone that has one unfortunately, most people I’ve crowdsourced opinions from say it looks like it’s about 30-50 hours based on the abuse and what seller has told me about his riding usage. First mod is gonna be an hour meter lol

Not counting all the running when he was not there. That gives me pause. Idling a bike isn't the same as running it, and doesn't help like people think it does.

definitely true and something to be considered. I’ve already budgeted for a full rebuild if needed, and first step will be to take it to my moto guy to give it a once over and look at it all after purchase. Don’t think it’ll need that much work but I enjoy my peace of mind.

If that's in the budget, go for bad. The only reason I'd be hesitant is if I needed it to run right away. If a rebuild doesn't scare you off then all you need is for it to be structurally sound. That you'll have to check in person.

It is definitely a nice bike, but maybe a Triumph Tiger 800 XC like my friend has. It can do plenty of offroad, and seems decent mannered on road. He has the sumo for fun stuff. Im thinking he probably doesnt want or need a bike capable of multi days offroad. Maybe something to just do a day trip, and has more than 3" of ground clearance

I think that if I had to pick a bigger bike to do it all with what is out now, I'd be eying the T7 or the new V-Strom 800DE. I lean toward the V-Strom personally, as I plan for more pavement.

Go through it, change coolant, oil n filter, grab a fresh hiflo or tusk air filter, new brake fluid and give it a once over to make sure things are tight and It will be good. Probably a good idea to do a valve check and spark plug while you are at it to know where you are at.

FYI my 2014 WR450 has 170ish hrs on it, riding of all sorts (nasty single track, sand dunes, the freakin rubicon - that was a bear n a half, fire roads, highway speeds on the street for miles n miles) from freezing temps to over 100*f and has never had any running issues. In all those hours the valves the 3 or 4 times I have checked have always been perfectly in spec and never needed adjustment. Oil gets changed every 10-20 hrs depending on the type of riding that I do with the most "expensive" Rotella T6 5w-40 and a HiFlo oil filter. Needless to say if the bike is treated right she will run well for a long time.

One thing that has really helped my WR450 is a radiator fan to keep temps in the slow stuff / idiling at a street light at bay.

If you determine that you have the ability to use the handheld (to change tune and get the current hours etc) let me know and we can work something out - Ill get the model num of the GYTR tuner i have. Its POSSIBLE that year of YZ250 has bluetooth and an app.

If I ever break the liter bike barrier, the AT is sooooo sweet. I think I'm just a bit short for something that size. Maybe someday way down the road.

Dont downplay the 500X, I have seen those things places most AT owners would never go haha.

Oh I know my bike will go anywhere I want to, but the AT is fancier and has way more power.

That pic of the 500X is a little misleading though. That one has the RR, and that's a totally different animal than stock.
