I saw a video on YouTube a little while ago of an English brewmaster doing a blind taste test of American "Macro" beers.
Mass market, mind you... so the definition of "good" is relative.
(Sorry, too lazy to go find it again and post the link).

PBR and Coors (not the Lite) were top of the heap

BTW, a note for you IPA fans:
Carling Black Label was basically an IPA before it became cool again.
Strong and very very hoppy
(Personally, I don't like hoppy beers anymore.)

Not widely distributed in the US these days (and it seems they dropped Carling from the name), so I dunno how close it is now to what I remember.
It was bought out by Heinemans in 1979.
I drank a lot of it back in the 70s

A quick look at some current reviews don't seem to indicate that the current recipe is very hoppy.
