It occurred to me that I had not heard the Tacoma Horn the other day so I beeped it on the road. Not too bad and way better than expected. Probably about a 6 on a 0-10 scale with 10 being a train horn and 0 being a 1980's Yugo. 4 being around minimally acceptable.

But then today, while bending over to pick up a tool in the driveway, I set off the panic alarm on my fob in my pocket. I was standing by the drivers rear tire.

HOLY MOLEY - That thing was loud and sounded way more like a train horn than it did when I was inside the truck. I'm now giving it an 8 on the scale above and really impressed with the sound deadening on the 3rd Gen Taco. No need to beef it up. I'm sufficiently happy.

Happy is good. How often do you use your horn anyways? Friendly toot at a light, holy crap that was close, move that thing…

The horn is sufficient for my needs however i would love to make it sound like a freight train for those people in front of me who are not as focused on the task of driving the way they should be.
