Aftermarket splash shields (liners) - don't drill if they seem to not line up

I've replaced two of my front splash shields with ones from an aftermarket set. I was kind of annoyed that the holes were not exactly lined up the same as the original, more flexible factory shields.
From what I've read, and my own conclusions, the aftermarket shields are made intentionally larger to allow for body/frame movement. The originals are made of a more flexible softer rubber, and they will stretch easily. I also believe that's why the originals don't last as long.
Just wanted to point that out, in case someone is about to drill new holes in their aftermarket shields.
So far, my Amazon purchased ones are working fine, staying in place and are heavier (and cheaper) than OEM.
