@blaklabl, Just wondering if you are still happy with the tires, they look great!
I am seriously considering the Pirelli AT+ tires. My SR5 came with the upgraded 17" rims with the Nitto Terra Grappler 2 which I like but I don't think they perform well in the rain and in SC rain is a big deal.
just wondering if you have any thoughts on them on the wet roads?
I will also be going up a size to 265/70R17 and doing a 1" lift all around with new Bilstien 5100's and a 1" rear block.
I have everything except the tires, just doing all the research i can before i pull the trigger on them.

I have about 40,000 miles on my Pirelli AT Plus tires. 265/75R16 in E load. I feel they have been a good balance between on pavement and off. Pretty good in Maine winters, wet roads, not noticeably noisy. Done well on woods roads. I don't do things like rock crawling. They have enough tread to make it through until fall, but am planning on getting new tires before winter. Too bad this model has gone up about $100 per tire since when I bought mine!

Thanks Brownie! Sounds pretty much like the type of roads I will be using the tires on as well (Minus the snow stuff!).
I am a little concerned that you think they are close to needing replacing after 40K though? I would expect them to do much better than that, but maybe not?
I am also looking at the standard rated tires, not the the E. You may want to do the same, they are cheaper and if you aren't doing any serious off-roading or heavy towing the E rated tires aren't necessary (IMO).
the standard rated tires should also give you a little better ride and less noise.

Many of the woods roads I travel are made with shale-like gravel which is tough on tires. E loads hopefully prevent some punctures. I could definitely get over 50K miles out of them, but like a little more tread in our winters.

I have a 2006 Tacoma that unfortunately just got hit in the drivers real well and knock the rear end out of it. Seeing as it has 668,000 miles on it, I’ve gone through some tires after the factory I ran two sets of Perelli tiger paws, very hard tire to balance a bit the bullet, and went with the KO transitioning to the KO2. Couldn’t say I found a better tire. They might be a bit more expensive but I bet I’ve gotten 100,000 miles out of every set that I had. I just got a 2014 to replace my 06 the transition isn’t complete but it’s not far off from what I had. I believe I will get used to it I just had to 65 70 17 KO2s put on it. They are a little full looking compared to the 16 inch rim I had on the 2006 off-road however I believe I will get used to it.

I do still like them! Ride great, quiet, etc. My Taco is my daily and I drive a lot of highway miles and am completely happy with my choice. As far as the wet performance, I’m in AZ so can’t speak to that as we haven’t had rain in about 6 months….

So I finally decided to get the Pirellis, they arrived yesterday, thanks for the input @Toco2boydel and @blaklabl.
I hope to have everything done next week sometime, look forward to posting some before and after pics.

Was inquiring about Pirelli Scorpion AT+ at my local Discount Tire today. The gentlemen was hell bent on pushing me towards Falken Wildpeaks. Regardless, was wondering about your thoughts on the Pirellis? Still a few months away so have some time to research and look for deals. Thanks for any feedback you can give...and those pics too!

I have had mine for 40K miles. I would buy them again. Good in snow, a little lighter than other E loads, decent on the gravel, shale roads I frequent. I don't notice any annoying noise on pavement.

Installed a set from a local Costco a week ago, been eyeing them for a while. So far very happy, of course much improved from stock tires, can't wait to try in the snow and icePXL_20231229_185514815.jpg

    Installed 265/75/16 E
    Stock Off Road
    Loving the slight size up

    Great looking tires and ride!
Ive been looking at a set of these myself to replace the stock goodyear. I drive mostly highway, but do want somthing slightly more agressive for the trails I frequent in the spring.
Have you noticed any rubbing with the up size? I have a trail edition myself which sits about an inch higher so I am hoping I can find an upsize tire in which I can leave the stock mudflaps on.

Same boat here with mostly hwy driving.
There is no rubbing to this day, no added noise, haven't tried offroading yet, feels great on the roads so far

Dragging this one up from the dead again.

Just ordered some of these as well. 265/75/R16. My driving style has changed over the last few years as I am more on the road now vs offroad. We will see how this goes.
