Is it possible (even through destructive means) to remove a panel blank
without disassembling the dash panels? I could then just route my wires up to the switch and pop it in from the front without having to worry about breakage or loss during panel removal.

You can use a butter knife or similar to slowly pry any button out.

But I’m sorry what Panel are you referring to.

on Gen 2 we have the button blanks left of the steering wheel.
The 1st row is a pain to pop, it requires you to remove the whole dash.
I just use the butter knife method.
The second row is easy, you can pop the buttons by removing the business card holder just below it. And you can gain access to the back side from there.

on Gen 2.5 they have the mentioned above, and a centre console button blanks.

I have no experience with this style as I don’t have one.
But if it’s just like mine (Gen 2) it too requires a lot of panel removal.
I’d just do the butter knife method.
