An official part would be made by Toyota for Toyota. Where as Cali-raised is neither and manufactures items for multiple brands inherently incorporating more ways to fuck it up.

Haha, I'm just thankful to have a place to work on my truck (my apartment frowns upon it lol). Normally I would have been working in his garage, but he was building some cabinets in there.

    :duh:

so we're setting up a build party at your place? I can drive down just to rebuild my LCAs and probably do a wheel hub or something. Also have a leak in my Cooper ST Maxxes, we can use your nice flat (probably) concrete floor to pop a bead and then clean the rim. We'll use starter fluid to pop it back in to make it exciting :cookiemonster:

Please read and try to understand.

being an official toyota part doesn't matter in the slightest.
All the tacoma frames are built the same. This information is readily available to whoever is making after market parts.
The angles don't change. The frames don't change.
The manufacturer knows every angle, length, hole. it's not "guess work".

Good. Now go back and read it again.

Thanks. I did read it again and actually again. I realize that they have no excuse and should have qc going on but just go ahead and read the last part of my post.

Sorry. I am retired so my shop is like my vacation home. 100 amp power with separate meter, weight room and heavy bag upstairs, WiFi, internet, cable, 600 watt surround system, 2 tv's, overhead heat and a/c in the repair bay and the same in the machine shop bay. I do my share of work outside in the driveway. I try not to stain the carpet with oil, antifreeze and axle grease.

Prices just suck. Best deal I have seen lately (today actually) is a garage kept 2015 Sport 4 x 4 with 26k miles for $27k. That price doesn't look so bad after what you posted.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I consider every "add on" I buy as a starter kit. Seems like everything needs something.
Just adds to the interest for me. The sliders I put on my truck needed a bit of persuasion on that very detail. I got it though! They are sturdy for sure. (Not Caliraised or whatever, some defunct outfit that did make a great slider)

If you haven’t removed the 14mm bolt they will never square up. It doesn’t matter if they are made right or wrong.

Dude no offense, but what are you going on about. If you buy something and its defective, you get your money back. If the manufacturer of anything denies you, you go to your credit card and they’ll get it for you. That’s a huge reason to use credit cards.

Hope the other dudes bracket can be bent or something. Definitely a bummer.

As per the thread goes, all I did today was put my iSup in the bed so I dont forget it when I go camping this weekend

I doubt that it’s made wrong.

What’s up everyone! It’s been 4-5 years since I’ve posted here I think, but it’s great to be back. Some of y’all may remember my stormtrooper 2nd gen build.

Long story short I sold that truck for a VW Atlas and ultimately went through a corporate buyback. Fortunately recouped all my money, but not without stress and lawyer fees. As we all typically do when we sell our Tacomas, I finally rejoined the family. Picked up my ‘23 Trail Edition yesterday. Really looking forward to starting a new build, linking back up with some old friends on here, and making new ones!

    Cheers!

Just saying. If you don’t take out the 14mm bolt underneath. It will never sit flat. I have installed 2 sets of those.

If you (or others) are in the market and near Colorado, put a deposit down with Mountain States Toyota. They don’t do any add ons to sticker. Nothing. But you may have to wait a bit.
I got my ‘22 last fall and actually got it under sticker. And 2 days later I went back to the parts department and bought a pile of accessories so they got their money and I got my truck and parts :).

It’s wild man. I lucked out to get out the door with what I paid, but there are dealers all around me (NC) listing TRD ORs at 51-52k….

Then of course they act like they’re giving you a deal when they knock some off. Slimy.
