That sucks but hopefully they honor the warranty and you don't have to fight with them. Good luck!

I'm kind of leary of anything with led strips. I have seen a few vehicles with stock brake light led strips that have a burnt out gap that looks like a gap in someone's teeth. Then it's total part replacement to fix the issue.

But I am putting in work! Along with the planned install of that head unit, I'm rewiring a bunch of crap again, but also installing a front grille cam, and some cool genuine Toyota front/rear dash cams that came from Toyota Thailand.

Morimoto was pretty easy to deal with in getting a warranty replacement. My replacement housing is showing up next week and it's swap and return.

The monstrosity is installed. I haven't gotten some functions working and still learning the interface but so far so good.

That's awesome that the head unit has dedicated hvac buttons for temp control. I have an intense dislike for units that have touchscreen hvac controls.

The AuCar unit has digital hvac touchscreen controls plus those push buttons on the bezel surround. I'm still learning all the do-hickies but I appreciate the redundancy of the two hvac controls methods. Out of all the different tesla-style head units, the difference is mainly the buttons/functions on the bezel.....and I preferred the AuCar one.

I still need to figure out why my front and rear cameras are not working. And also figure out how to tie in the OBDii.

Does the unit have a hardwire obd connector or rely on a Bluetooth obd plugin dongle? I tried an obd splitter cable and it failed miserably so neither my bully dog gauge and obd Bluetooth dongle would work properly. Later found out from other people that they had similar issues with splitters.

It has a hard wired obdii connector. I am using a obd splitter for it along with my ultragauge. I've also heard splitters can be junk and also introduce new problems to diagnose.

I read that the odb connection may be the reason I'm having trouble with my cameras but I'm still troubleshooting.

I'm reading that the obd connection only displays speed and rpm so it won't be a big loss if I can't use it.

I just use a BT one. I run a splitter to for ultra, and OBD and no issues. was also running one other and it don’t like 3 but 2 was fine

AUcar Tesla Style Headunit has been installed. I'm still working through some functionality but I like it so far. I'll love it when I get all the functions I want working like they should (SWC, cams, etc).

But apps, music quality, digital hvac.. all working quite nice!

Also got the front and rear Toyota dash cameras up and running. This device is sold in the Toyota Thailand/Vietnam Southeast Asia market.

Also got the CarTrimHome one-touch window switch installed and running correctly.

That head unit is crazy and those Toyota cameras look sweet!

I thought I didn't want those window switches but after having them in my work truck they've grown on me. May have to order one soon.

I feel the same way. My wife's Highlander has it which made me want to upgrade my truck. I bought the kit and started having buyers remorse because I roll my windows up/down frequently and didn't know if I would be fumbling with the switch more than I liked.

But after installation (de-pinning was the hardest part), the one touch window switch is growing on me.

There were a lot of hokey how-to threads on the window switch conversion. But @caribe makaira came through with the master window switch wiring diagrams of Gen2 and Gen2.5 and with that, the retrofit was a cinch.

If I have time, I'll do a write up, etc

Not the bumper caps, no. I have to flare them out to match the fenders.

Been thinking of a better mounting solution that uses those clips instead of a gob of epoxy.

are the fenders wider fiberglass? assuming yes since you are flaring them or is it missing something?
