No cars to post today, but I got this as a gift. Our house has those modern large button switched so it doesn't work. I thought about the garage switch but its covered, Id never actually see it.
If any of yall got a kids room that this would work with let me know. Ill send it over.

Now I remember why I stick to diecast and not expand to plastic kits. But I spent my weekend building the Aoshima Initial D AE86.

    And here's the best part:

You can choose from Blind Attack mode to full pop-up!

And here's a few samples of the blind attack.

    And definitely the best one.

The pre-paint kit, while not as realistic as those seen on YouTube builds, is far better than what I can achieve. Some details can be improved upon. The carbon hood is just a dark grey, with no carbon fiber details. It's probably for the best as I did break a few water slide decals and tried my best to make it look presentable. Unfortunately, my finger bumped into the not-dry "Trueno" water slide on the front bumper and it fell on the carpet. I'd rather not buy another kit for one water slide (Edit: I'm thinking of using a white paint pen, but I'm afraid what the end result will look like). And while some versions of this kit do come with an engine, this one did not. Weirdly, instead of the license plate as seen in the manga, it just comes with an "Initial D" decal in its place.

From afar, it looks great. Up close, flaws can be seen. But I am my harshest critic.

Thanks, man! Gives me some incentive to do the FC3S.

The "Fujiwara Tofu Shop" decal worried me most. That went on well. But the loss of the "Trueno" slide on the front bumper did hurt a bit. My options for a fix is rather limited.

    And one thing :RTFM!

This kit give the option of the vent cup holder or the auxiliary gauges. I wanted both, but didn't notice the issue until it was too late. The aux gauges look fine, but I really wanted to use the vent holder. I tried to open the other AE86 I had commissioned and use it there. It only ended with breaking the rim off the wheel that's glued on. The solution: keep it propped and turn it to the other side...

    But in a perfect world...

Building is super relaxing to me. I have built hundreds of models. I like that I build it however I want. Its funny though. When I was a kid, if a kit have stock and drag or race options, I would ALWAYS do the drag or race options. Now, not so much.

I’ll be stopping in there frequently but also wanted to let you know I didn’t think you were crowding up this thread at all. I use to think the same thing when I first started posting in here on the first few pages, all vw bugs. Always enjoy seeing what everyone has and not just hot wheels. Everything including models! And for me, the more custom the better!!
