rain went around my hilltop... so got the yard all mowed & cleaned up. super humid, fast clouds & a bit breezy today.

took a lunch break, got the dogs outside for a walk & then tinkered around on the mini truck & fixed a leak.

back says its time for a longer break.

if the weather holds into 2morrow? will get the bush hogging done.

Muddy Waters, BB King, Clapton, have all covered it at one time. Gets played at reunion, anniversary, fund raising shows all the time. Blind Willie McTill wrote it I think. Seen it live with Clapton and Muddy Waters , Allman Brothers, great song.

At my company, we have about 330 office locations around the world. Anywhere from 1,000+ employee large sites,, to 10 person small sales offices. Anyway, over the last 6 months or so, we have had many, many sites lose internet or electrical power. Mostly in 3rd world countries where internet services is tenuous at the best of times. But these are the funniest "root cause" outages I can easily recall (one just happened yesterday).

    * Wisconsin, USA - total site power outage. Cause: Tree fell down and took out the local power lines
    * Ohio, USA - total site power outage. Cause: A goose flew into the power lines. I was sent pictures of the dead goose lying on the ground, and the small fire that resulted when the loose power line landed on a car in the parking lot.
    * India - Site wide network circuit outage. Cause: group of local monkeys literally pulled on and damaged the fiber/network links going into the building. Our network vencor literally called it "Monkey rampage at customer location". (I think I mentioned this one a few months ago)
    * England, UK - a small fire started inside the comm room at the location. Local Fire authority made them shut the entire building down for safety, and sent everyone home for 2 days.
    * Ontario, Canada, eh? - Total site network/internet outage because construction in the parking lot (backhoe) ate some fiber spaghetti for lunch.... Repaired the next day. HOWEVER...... construction was still ongoing. Guess what?? Backhoe was still hungry, ate another lunch of fiber spaghetti a day later, so that site went down for another day.

It was a great weekend! After my massage on Friday wife/I loaded up in Luna Taco and drove up to my dad's cabin above Lake Isabella. Had no idea what condition it would be in after the snows. We got lucky and only lost one light fixture on the stairway.

Once we opened up the doors and let air in, it warmed up to about 60. Night temps in the upper 40s. Snuggle time!! Didn't bother lighting the furnace.

Fridge did take a dump. Hard to enjoy your time with thawed meat and popsicles in the freezer. . .

Went for a short ride on the ATV, wife on back. We got about 1/3 mile from the cabin, down one of the steepest road in the area. Turning at the bottom and I see the back tire whip outside of the frame of the wheel well. W T F??? Turns out only 1 lug nut left. We live at basically sea level, this was near 7000' We had to walk home, get Luna, drive into town to try to find new lugs, and a socket/wrench that would fit. No lugs, but I was able to borrow a couple from the ATV back at the cabin and get this one home. Halfway up the street, ATV died. So I got to test out the tow hitch on Luna. Turns out I'm an idiot and turned off the gas when we left it, didn't turn it back on when I started it.

Sad thing is we emptied the rest of the closets, place is going up for sale. I'll HAVE to go back a time or two to fix the ATV (part of sale) and hopefully take a friend who is interested in the property for a weekend test-drive.

Not many passengers this time, but I’ve got one that equals about four! Good thing I don’t have a full load this time.

Good evening everyone. I'm without a phone for a day or 2, the new S23 from t-mobile went back and I cancelled the contract. 3 network resets in 12 days, apparently the new phones do a thing called "idle mode" and they get incoming texts/ multimedia messages and the phone just dumps them somewhere without any notification that they received the messages. The tech support from t-mobile told me that I would need to do a weekly network reset. Nope, wrong answer . Take yer shit back and give me a full refund. I went to Mint mobile, paid $250 outright for a S20 FE 5G and $15/month for an unlimited plan. Good enough for my needs, since the old S5 was all that I needed.

Other news- Prudence got an alignment, the guy was at it for about an hour to get it dialed in. As long as he didn't fudge the print out, he got everything pretty much in the middle of all of the specs. The goat truck goes down the road fairly straight, good enough for how I intend to use the truck. Next up is to hunt down the last big oil leak and seal it up. The whole engine is oozing, it needs to be pulled and resealed at the minimum. That sounds too much like work, I will just keep some extra oil on hand to top it off. As long as I can keep the leaks off of the exhaust, everything will be just fine.
