The TRD skid has the most finished appearance that I've seen. The RCI I installed this weekend is blockier and the 'wings' don't go out quite as far. But I like the look for an off road vehicle. And it's pretty robust, with beautiful looking welds. Also think about the material. The TRD is aluminum so it's lightweight but will be stickier/softer and won't hold up like a steel skid if you are actually skidding over rocks. Aluminum is what I got and it's fine for me as once I hear a thunk I choose a different line, and I'm not intending to armor the entire bottom.

I just put some RC ditch lights on, couldn't pass up the deal, a buddy of mine owed me. So for now I think I'm just going to find some 5/8" metal, drill the holes for the ditch light mount, then slide the midland antenna mount over it and tighten it down. $5.00 worth of metal, some bed liner paint and it's done.

lol... you are the second person that said remove the 14mm bolt... that sumbitch was out on the second step of prep... but I get what your are saying. maybe I can force it with a jack and gouge into my new truck frame and try to bend the aftermarket slider to fit.... then take it back down and repair the frame marks so they don't rust... but the jack will just force it out farther away from the frame.. it's all good

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
I hit 75k miles the other day so I decided it's time to do the spark plugs. Only took a few hours. Pulled out the borescope for some cylinder inspection too.

There isn’t a single good way to package and shit a skid plate. The simple fact of the matter is it’s a large piece of metal and it’s much heavier and harder than any box or packaging will be.

UPDATE FROM MY CALI RAISED LED SLIDERS. .. They are gonna make it right. Said probably bent by freight company. I'm going to try and bend 1/8 inch steel tabs where they should be, if not they will make me another set and ship to me. I'm almost $3k in with Cali raised led products and like the parts I have got form them. hope I can get the sliders right.. Sorry to bore my fellow taco people with my posts..

My box arrived in great shape, but it only had to go 70 miles and it was the aluminum plate, so I can't compare it to your experience at all. I picked up the sliders myself before. Yes, I'm fortunate to live near two reliable manufacturers (RCI and RSG).

Shout out to @oostroma for selling me his off-road tail lights a few weeks ago for a good price on BST. My nephew just purchased his first ever Tacoma (2023 OR-AC) and wanted the same tail lights as my 2017. Got them polished up, ceramic coated and installed them for his birthday as his gift. He's stoked...now he wants the bulb upgrade from MESO but that's on him :D

Glad to hear they’re making it right. I’ve ordered a good amount of stuff from them and have always had good luck.
