I have a 1996 Tacoma 2.7L. I purchased a high boost supercharger kit from LCE and had it installed. I just got around to installing a boost gauge and I cant figure out why I'm getting little to no boost. I have the boost gauge connected to the port closest to the intake that is used for boost gauge. So far the max boost I've seen is 1.3PSI where I should be getting 8PSI.

I've checked all vacuum lines and intake manifold gasket for any leaks. I'm getting vacuum readings on the boost gauge that show normal conditions. I've tightened the supercharger belt and confirmed its tight. I've disconnected the bypass valve vacuum line to make sure it wasn't stuck open and still no boost. The only thing I can think of is the throttle blade the bypass valve opens and closes inside the SC is stuck open.

    Am I missing anything?

What vacuum source do you have the bypass valve diaphragm routed to?

Can you post a picture of the supercharger installed on your truck?

I have it routed to the vacuum off the bottom rear of the SC (The vacuum closest to the cab on the lower part of SC). I actually just figured out my problem. I had assumed the bypass valve was working since I could see it move (open & close) when applying throttle. It only moved about 1/2" either way which I thought was strange but figured it only needed to move that much. I went to remove the bypass valve and realized that is was getting caught and unable to close. So when I would see it move, it was only moving from ~90% open to fully open. I got it unstuck and went for a drive and got over 6psi boost just barely getting on it. I still have the bypass vacuum disconnected and didn't want to push it too hard and damage anything by not having the bypass valve. But when I removed the vacuum line from the bypass valve the inlet on the valve came with the line so now I have a hole in my bypass valve so just ordered a replacement. LCE says its 3-4 weeks delayed. I guess I wont be running the truck until that gets in.

Not driving it until you replace the diaphragm is a pretty good idea. I noticed your fuel pressure regulator is referenced before the throttle body. Tacoma FPRs are rising rate 1:1. It would be beneficial to attach it to a boost source so the pressure rises as the the boost rises. It keeps it from starving from fuel.

Are you running an AFR gauge and anything to control the additional fuel needed for the "high boost" kit?

Appreciate the suggestion, I will T the fuel pressure regulator into the boost line. I have an innovative motorsports boost & AFR gauge. I still need to have the O2 sensor bung for AFR gauge welded in, so currently I cant measure AFR. I have the 5th injector and split second piggyback from LCE that should be managing the fuel. Theres a vacuum line to the piggyback that shows boost so it can increase fuel.

Sounds like you got it handled. I'd be careful getting on it before you can monitor the AFRs though. 8psi isn't a lot for this engine, but it's more than enough if it goes lean to detonate and end up in catastrophic engine failure. Not trying to scare you by any means, it's just an important thing to monitor. Lol

Yup that broken part is the bypass valve without the vacuum nipple there you'll get almost no boost.

He says in the post that you quoted that he broke it and is ordering a replacement, as well as not driving it until then.
