I booked an appointment for the engine oil change and likely the recall I just got from the mail. Also figuring out at 110k miles, what major maintenance needs to be done (transmission fluid change is due to be changed)

So far I really like it. Seems well built and very robust. The winch plate is rated for 10k. The welds all look good as well. No complaints so far. We're driving out to Utah this September to visit family and explore. Hopefully after that I'll have a good idea of how it performs.

I finally wired/painted the third brake light on my cap. I just used t-taps and tapped into the driver side brake light.

I bought and will put in (once it arrives) the

Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector
    CURT TRAILER CONNECTIONS.png

and since I have been rearended while not even moving the following also

Nilight Truck Tailgate Light Strip 48" Triple Row 360 LED Strip with Red Running Brake Lights White Reverse Light Amber Turning Signals Strobe Lights
    NILIGHT.jpg

I thought about getting the OPT7 one but at twice the price I went with the above....

Also I was going to get the 60" version but measured about 57" of space to adhere the lights to so 48" it is...
going to neatly tuck everything behind the bumper and also use some wire loom. Neatness counts for electrical stuff....

I'm not exactly sure how much of the spare tire tool access hole it will cover or won't

since I might trailer something very occasionally I'll just swap out the connector to the trailer/camper whatever.....

I'm also considering Un connecting the running light wire on the LED strip so the brake light is MORE noticeable.

I have the same one. Holding up well in the Texas heat. I condition it every other wash to prevent fading. 7 months in and it still looks new.

Install the light strip with Velcro, that way if you need to access the spare tire, unplug and take off. I put the Opt7 on my '16 several months ago and has stayed perfectly in place.

With the help of a friend and a neighbor, we got my Westcott Designs rock sliders installed Sunday.

It was a beautiful day to do it too. Nice breeze, a little sunshine, not too hot not too cold.

Got an OME Heavy Duty 2 - 2.5 inch Lift with Icon Rebound SLXs. Running Geolander G015s and they are far quieter than the stock tires. Feels great to drive.

Just waiting on my rock sliders and 12 weeks for new steel high clearance rear bumper.

Changed out the dang outer tie rod end. Torn boot!
PSA: pickle forks are best used for the pickle jar only. Spend the money to buy the tie rod puller tool

that part was fun. I had to call a machine mechanic neighbor to come drill those out. But we got it.

Was doing an oil change a month ago and noticed oil/grease on the bottom of both tie rod boots. Cleaned everything up really good and checked again last week - still leaking (pretty small, tho). Brought it in and they are replacing the steering rack/gear, both outer tie rod ends, fluid flush and alignment. All covered under my extended warranty which expires in 8 months :jellydance: (easily paid for itself x2). Stock suspension and no real hard wheeling. 38,000 on the clock.
