The owner of 74 Weld is a good buddy of our, he makes really nice stuff however the issue with the portals is the additional 3.5” track width. Even with the 2.25 kit things start to get really wide

40hrs in to this cage… if you want your tubes tucked tight like (as they should be!) this it takes time and ultimately is expensive. This is why a properly done cage can easily cost $20k

Get rid of them all together. Time consuming project but very much worth it. Bevel edges, paint and assemble. So much smoother with this done.

Just the tops where the pads were. Both ends on every leaf. I did it with mine and it was drastically smoother.

That'll be a fun project... What did you use to add the bevel?

Flap disk will work just fine. Make sure you check the holes where the anti friction pads were too. Some of mine had some pretty good burrs, you want them gone if you have any.

Didn’t you also use some sort of Teflon impregnated paint or something?

I've got 934s and just grenaded my outer. Spoke with RCV this morning and they told me their axles are good for 30+ degrees of articulation and they have yet to see one come back from a Tacoma. Now this could be total sales BS but figured I'd ask here because if that's true I'll be replacing with RCV hands down

Does anyone here have any first hand experience with the RCV?

They will bind at full droop, we originally tried to use them when we first developed our kit and they limited the travel… so we built 934

Nope. No point. Leaf springs by nature aren’t going to stay painted long.
