I threw down for a case of Federal FMJ 147grain as my Xmas present to myself last year - that's my favorite but it is $$

Worst is I can hardly find 20ga, especially slugs... which means I need to buy a 12ga
IF I could bring myself to part with my 20ga to fund this transaction, this wouldn't be such an issue..

Blains Farm and Fleet has 20ga by me but not sure if it's all bird shot or a mix of bird shot and slugs.

Definitely would recommend the 12ga Winchester SXP for a well priced reliable pump. Liked my first one so I bought another but with wood furniture.

 

I got a bunch of bird shot, need slugs and buckshot which seem to be lacking around here..

I keep looking at these Police trade-in 870s but my 20ga is an 870, can't go wrong with that but I thought about mixing it up and getting a Winchester 12ga .. good to know you like yours that much.

I love pump action shotguns - need to shoot mine more also need to clean it..

 

I still have my first 12ga 870 shotgun i bought. Its beat up but still shoots great.

 

I wouldn't buy a new 870 since they were bought out and changed things. They are not the same quality as the old ones. My buddy bought about the same time I bought my Winchester. It jammed a lot and would require a lot of strength to eject the shell after it jammed. Same goes for people at trap competition's I'd score at. Once it got hot and humid out they'd start jamming and would refuse to open up. I think in the 9k+ rounds I put through my original Winchester it's jammed only a handful and hasn't jammed in a while. It's basically moms gun now when we go out shooting.

Yeah, that is why I'm looking at the Police trade-ins and then started thinking about other options and wound up looking at the SXP
