There’s a lot of bad photographers out there too, especially now in the digital age. I’ve heard plenty of horror stories. Shooting without a memory card, losing memory cards, having a camera fail on the day, losing photos due to computer crashing and even double booking. I have protocols in place for all the above scenarios… a lot of photographers don’t.

Screwing someone’s bumper up ain’t the same as screwing someone’s wedding photos up, very different pressures and expectations and in one professions screwing up can get you sued.

I spent 10 years in a hot sweaty workshop.

Having protocols in place in any business keeps clients happy. The fabricator doesn’t have the protocols needed to run a good business; ie put the customer first.

Enough to piss my wife off…
    Let’s try this again…
    1. As the title says… Just Sayin.

    2. I ordered from two of the top fab shops around. I’d think more than half of you are running their product.

    3. still not going to slam them publicly.

    4. I’ve read a thousand posts on TW about the PITA customer who calls once a week. I trusted their lead times and waited it out. Ok, maybe hundreds of posts, I’m sure someone’s counting…

    5. my comparison to construction was simply, when I or others drop the ball there is monumental repercussion. Big money. Not sure how it was interpreted I have a “real” job, they don’t..

    6. I understand every side spoken here. But! Is ANY company above taking care of their customers?

    7. Finally! I’m surprised TWO of the top dogs did this. I prepaid both orders AS REQUESTED! And was told I’d be contacted when they were ready.

All I know is it must be Bitchin to work in a field with no accountability or repercussions. Just sayin… have a fantastic day and thanks for readin!

I don't blame you for being frustrated. They should not need to occasionally contacted, and if they are going to miss their quoted date, that should be communicated well in advance. The latter is the most frustrating part to me; if you are so far behind, clearly you didn't come to that conclusion after the clock has nearly run out and the customer is contacting you. We go through this every day at work, and our message to our manufacturers is the same; "give me an accurate date, stick to it, and if you can't make that date,,, give me plenty of notice"

I am not sure about this hobby, but in mine; it is known some MFGs give priorities to the sponsored folks and the cool kids. Which infuriates nearly all their other customers,,, which I would think are the actual paying base of the biz.
