During my last off-road venture the usual rattles in the truck were exceptionally loud. When I removed the passenger headrest, one of the more obnoxious rattles went away.

Any ideas how I can troubleshoot that rattle other than completely removing the seat foam and then poking around?

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
The headrest is what rattles? Not something broke in the seat back?

Do you need that head rest? Mine was gone when I bought the truck.

Some tape to tighten things up .

The headrest doesn't rattle since I took it out. Neither does the seat. :burp: (Just joking!)

It made the same sharp, loud, metal-on-metal rapping regardless of how bad the dirt road was.

No, I don't need it. Nobody else ever sits in the passenger seat and I would just take it out but there ain't no place in the garage to store it.

Thanks for your suggestion! Before my next trip to the boonies I'll wrap some tape around the headrest legs and see if that makes any difference.

take the headrest and bend the 2 bars slightly in or out,...then put it back in
the tension will fix it most of the time

You might try some heat shrink instead of tape. If one sleeve isn't thick enough, add another. Keep going until you're satisfied. Also, no sticky residue.

Wow Your garage must be packed if you do not have room for a head rest.
