Do you have the equal size misalignment spacers or the one long and one short?

Yeah my bad, lacking sleep I thought you meant the boots.

I did rub my coilover for less than a day but that's because a jackass hit my 4Runner in a parking lot and knocked my alignment slightly off.

Got it aligned the next day and it didn't rub anymore.

Did anyone ever take one of these apart to compare to OEM?

Would be a complete hassle to do so based on their design.

Here's a pic I snapped of mine when I pulled to check it out; something "locks" it into place to prevent it from being pulled apart. Take it I'd have to cut the boots completely off and get in there to find a lock ring or something.

They can physically compress and extend as it "rides" along that shaft you see there.

I should just do what @drr said and put the tundra inner joint on a OEM taco axle and let it ride, extra articulation, more strength, less bulk

Basically the same as a tundra cv modification for long travel, but just with the shorter stock length tacoma shaft.

I ended up getting mine to play nicely with everything. Offset shock spacers did the trick and the alignment kinda helped.
Having no binding at full droop was a nice piece of mind.

Well, I am back after 2 and half years to report one had failed me. Both of the boots tore within the first three months but I decided to roll with them for as long as they would last. (not very long). The one pictured exploded on a fairly mild trail. I don't know the exact moment it happened but I assume the combination of slipping on snow and sudden traction on rock may have done it.

I did take them both back to O'Reilly's and they warrantied them for me. The new part number has an extra T at the end I don't remember seeing on the first set. I'm going back out this weekend on the new axles, hoping for smooth sailing this time.
