As a newbie to pistol optics, a quick question:

Why are the above mentioned aftermarket plates better/preferred over the Glock factory plates? Obviously, a plate is not a plate, so what are the differences?

The factory optic cuts leave gaps between the slide and optic front and/or rear

Aftermarket plates fill those gaps and are generally tighter fitting to better hold the optic in place

High volume production vs. precision fitting.

    Thanks.

I read on the CH website, that they are so tight they may require custom fitting. So i’d probably go with the latter version you mentioned. Much appreciated!

I've used CH plates on over a half dozen pistol optics. Do date, none have required custom fitting. All have been snug, but not to the point where they needed custom fitting. All of the screws provided were of optimum length, and none had required custom sizing, unlike the optic manufacturers screws.

No matter what you use make sure you have a torque screwdriver to torque everything to spec. Seems like user error is the common denominator when people have loose optics or issues.

Buy once cry once..... a set of FIXIT Sticks with a torque module is the best piece of kit I have ever purchased for working on my guns. I bought the pistol kit with everything needed for glocks, most 1911s and Sigs. Very sound investment to protect from stripping screws and torx heads.

    Leaning towards C&H.

I also ordered a double diamond trigger connector (and an extra one for the G47 when I stumble across one) :anonymous:

Who makes nice metal sights for the MOS Glocks? I have a Vickers Elite Battlesight for my G45, but it being MOS, the rear dovetail is moved back, and the sight hangs off the rear of the slide.

Tritium is not an absolute, since I am about to add a Leupold Delta Point.

Undecided if I want taller sights to co-witness with the optic. If not, I guess the sights become a moot point. LOL

If you’re going LDP pro, it has its own bolt on rear sight. Just get that. Then you’ll only need a taller front sight and bing bang boom, you’re done.
