After checking out the town, it was time to head off to our first campsite. We took off into the desert and found a nice little desert oasis to call home for the night.

We woke up to drastically different weather. Out with the sun, in with the rain. Everything was soaked. We made breakfast and hit the trail. The first 8 miles of trail, from where we camped to the start of the Bradshaw trail was pure trash. Some of the worse washboards I have ever been on. Once we got to the trail trestle the rain let up and the trail smoothed out.

Here is the crew for this trip

The next 40ish miles of trail was good, but didn't take any pictures because of the rain. We got lucky and the rain stopped right as we made it to camp. This was new years eve, so we gathered around the fire and drank some beers. We were all in bed before 10pm:rofl:

It rained all night and into the morning. It was so bad that we didn't eat breakfast and got out of there before the washes started raging. A few hours later the rain stopped and the sky opened up for the first time since Friday. Such a beautiful area. Can't wait to go back and see the parts I missed because of the storm.

It's like you are having an amical breakup with an old love. But you've got a younger, hotter, and just as fun woman on deck to take her place. The new one will help you get over the hold one real quick.

AC for the win! Love my AC.

But your regular cab looked so nice.

Thank you! I really love that little truck and thought it was going to be my "forever" truck. I'm less than 2 years away from being 50, and at 6'5", I'm just not comfortable in it on long drives anymore. I still have it. My wife wants me to sell it, but I am stalling:D.

    I'm 6'2" - I get your not being comfortable.

    But don't sell it - it is a collector's item! ;)

I can't really justify keeping it. It is just the wife and I at home. She has a car and I have three, but I get the privilege of maintaining and paying for all four. Last time I had 3 cars I hated it. I need to remind myself of that and sell it.

I get that. I had 2 trucks for 10 years - 3 for about a year. It was fun for a while, but I am much happier now with only 1.
