Any woodworkers?

I sold some of my gun collection that was just sitting in the safe and had not been used in years. I used that cash to buy a few tools that I will use much more often. I got the domino, domino cutters and tennons, dust extractor, sander, sand paper assortment. It was pricey, but I decided to take the risk. So far no regrets. I love how the dust collector automatically turns on when you start the Domino! We will see if any of this helps me improve my projects.

I figure about the same as a new set of tires for the Taco.

 

Selling guns is nearly blasphemous for me lol. I’ll let ‘em rot in the safe before I sell them. Don’t know where that comes from, but sadly it’s true

Yeah a domino is high up on my wish list.

 

The domino has really helped my woodworking, as well as dramatically speeding up several projects.
My other justification in my Festool spending spreee was seeing how well they hold value. I won't lose much if I decide I need to sell them.

Ok, I wouldn’t want to influence anyone to buy something like this. It’s a nice tool, but not very helpful really. Case in point are the bookcases I made last year, I was using a mortising jig on my drill press and a tenon cutting jig on my table saw. When I switched to using my Domino, I only reduced the build time from 40 hours each to 10 hours each. Not much of a savings, I suggest you forget the thought of getting a domino…

 

Don't forget about every time you tell your son to go get you the Domino and he shows up with pizza. Definitely not a selling point there.

Actually he delivers pizza for a high end joint, he's never stoop to Dominoes! The place he works at calls them "Tomato Pies". Whatever... lol

 

I have the ETC EC 125 and the cheapest dust collector they sell. It's amazing. I can sand with any grit and run my fingers over the board after sanding and only get a hint of residue on my fingertips. It blows me away at how well the dust collection works.

I don’t do mitered boxes as a rule because it’s so freakin hard to get everything to line up perfect, but it sure looks like you nailed it!

if you don't own them already , do yourself a favour and buy a set of these ToolTheory helical cable / hose clips . I used mine for the first time today , so much better than managing a loose power cable and vacuum hose , plus they are having a spring sale right now
