    Nice truck.

I would skip the mountain hatch tailgate cover. I almost got it but paused after others said it wasn't worth it.

OEM bed lights are nice and cheap. In hindsight I would have installed only one and sold the other.

I like bed stiffners. Some folks say unnecessary but looks like common sense to me especially since I am running a Leer 100XR. I like the additional hold down points.

For more cheap stuff someone 3D prints shields for the license plate lights-makes backing up at night easier for $10. Possibly the best cheap accessory there is. Some of the chrome deletes are nice depending on your taste and more of a wait than a major expense.

I have Desert Does it seat jackers on the driver's seat only. Well worth it to me. Best accessory under $100.

I don't have a tailgate lock but I do have a remote tailgate solenoid (factory.)

Bed stuff is mostly preference-but I like my bedrug and I have an OEM rubber mat over that.

Recovery gear is important too-and you don't have to spend a ton. A quality recovery strap ($50) and a D ring shackle that fits into the receiver ($40) live in the Taco. As does a Harbor Freight 1/4-3/8-1/2 standard and metric big socket kit ($60). I also keep a HF long breaker bar in case I need to change a tire. I still haven't figured out what to do about the jack. I rely on the stocker for now.

For more expensive stuff like armor, sliders are good to have, and I am running a TRD front skid, RCI transmission skid and transfer case skid. I did the exhaust re-route. Honestly you could get pretty far with just sliders, TRD front skid and exhaust re-route alone.

Don't forget the most unglamorous nasty-protect the metal. Still new enough where you can cosmoline it really well.

Just got home from the trip. Skiing, biking on the ocean, dirt road driving. Handles well, stores my stuff and got me from here to there and back. Not completely new anymore. 4000 miles in 3 weeks.

I'm looking to get bed lights soon. Are there any bed lights that include a switch on the light itself? I'd like to be able to drop the tail gate, and flip the switch to turn the lights on. I do a lot of camping out of my truck and having a lit bed it super helpful.

Also my 2023 Access Cab TRD Off Road didn't come with a switch in to turn on the lights in the cab. I'm wondering if I need a relay and the switch in addition to the lights to make bed lights work. Any insight would be awesome.

My OEM Bed Lights illuminate when I put the switch on...located on the left side under the steering wheel.

I think the standard way is to have the light switch be in the cab, but is there a way or a product that puts the switch in the bed of the truck? Being able to turn it on there without walking to the front would be super handy.

    Not that I'm aware of...

Unless you're handy with electricity and all of it's marvels through junction boxes?

I use that term loosely as that's about the extent of my knowledge. lol

I have OEM bed light kit that I installed myself. I would find it helpful to be able to turn them on from the bed also. But my keyfob is typically in my pocket and I simply press unlock and the bedlights(along with interior lights) turn on for a minute until they time out.

Got the Matt gecko led light kit installed lastnight. It’s pretty straight forward to setup, a bit of crawling and lots of zip ties, and now I can see in the dark.

Didn't read the whole thread--it is too long. My suggestion is, if you do much back roading, to add a front camera. It is very useful on hills where you cannot see where you are going.

I had on my 2nd gen a strip of led lights that ran off a couple of 2a batteries and had as on/off switch on the battery holder. Self adhesive and attached to inside bed rail. Got it from Amazon quite inexpensive. Worked really well

Cubbyhole mounting bracket for Pedal Commander if that's your thing.
    That's from Fitzaprint on Etsy.
Many other aftermarket panel options on there, as well.

Added a little bit of safety this afternoon. Hope I don't have to use it anytime ever.
