You might need to explain what a B pillar is to the OP. Since basic automotive things that my wife, daughter and granddaughter know have not been in his curriculum.

    Yep. Some owners do too.

Maybe not all the tires. I'd bet 1/2 the spares on vehicles over 1yo are underinflated. :D

Many reasons, but one is lazy, poorly trained and supervised minimum wage staff. Keep in mind these are the same ones who rotate your tires, wash your vehicle (and you wonder about scratches/swirls) and perform your 'free' oil changes.

Probably a good percentage of these staffers could evolve into good techs if they had someone helping them along the way be showing them how to do things correctly, performing random QC on their work, and canning slackers when appropriate.

We set them 4-6 psi higher in the summer, there's a massive difference in temperatures where I am, and hot temps vs cold can be 7-8psi sometimes.

So tacomas I set to 35-36 psi all summer long.

Customers will write bad surveys and scream at us over TPMS lights, but the ones who are willing to actually check their pressures, simply adjust it.

I only set to exact pressures if requested. The worst are the people who need the dash indicator to read exact.

Not a toyota but I had a lady yelp me because I reset her maintenance reminder and left it on the screen so she could see "Oil life 100%" when she picked it up.

The 1 star review said "he messed with my gauge cluster and now i can't get it back on the mpg info"

Geez lady, maybe read your f--king owners manual and learn how to use the steering wheel buttons?

If they use a digital pressure gauge, I know I’ve used mine before and not given it time to 0 out. Inflated my tires and it actually doubled the pressure. It’s possible something like this happened. Double check the pressures

Most dealers are lazy and don't train or check on their workers. I've called out tire shops also. Most use air power tools that are set on a higher setting. This results in over inflated tires and lug nuts. It's best to check and adjust air pressures, lug nut torque and fluid levels yourself. If you can't or won't I'd suggest searching out a reliable mechanic/tech.

I dunno my 2021 has the Firestone Destination LE2's on it. One of the tires took a nasty nail TWICE in damn near the same spot so I had
to replace the tire last month. Tire shops wouldn't touch it.

So I bought a brand new one.

The truck has 13,500 miles on it and the other 3 tires, with 3 rotations and PSI at a constant 35 showed 6/32 left on them. I was pretty
surprised that so much tread had been worn away after 13,500 miles. I figured 8/32 but they were clearly down on tread. Discount Tire
said they don't know how they do it, but the OEM tire ( same brand same everything ) will run worse than the same tire bought off the rack.

June and December are very good months for us moneywise - and I put a set of Wildpeaks on my wife's Subaru last week - damn impressed so
far with that tire on her car. In December I'm gonna put Wildpeaks on the SR5, by that time the OEM tires should be bald at current rate.

Standard driving, mostly street stuff, easy on the gas and easy on the brakes, truck is Stock.

if you were wearing the center, you have overinflated tires.

    what's 'fast'?

i've seen people give 1-star tire reviews for tires because they don't get 80,000 miles out of every set.

but if you're wearing out the middle, you're overinflated.

trucks door sticker pressures are typically setup for 4 passengers, with cargo. considering i'm not doing 4 passengers, or cargo all the time, i typically run 5-10psi under the door sticker on the rears, and match the sticker on the fronts

At the end of the day it is your responsiblity to check the specs before you drive away....okay just stirring the pot. If my tags says 30 PSI i usually put in 32PSI cold. If you can't trust dealer to put correct psi in tires how can you trust them to correctly torque lugs, plugs, etc? Do it yourself or find a shop you can trust to do it right.

But yeah OP check your tires and tire pressure at each fuel up or monthly. Rotate every 5-10k.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    I have Goodrich KO2s in size 265 75 16.

I never run over 30psi, and I never have any uneven tire wear. Not on any truck in the past 40 years.

Second set of KO2s on my Taco now. First set traded in at 40K miles because they tend to get noisy from excessive offroad use. No uneven wear andI could have gotten 60k miles but too noisy to keep them on. A used tire store gave me $80 per tire, cash deal. Not bad for tires with 40K miles.

I will also regularly carry up to 1,000 pound loads and offroad weekly in harsh conditions.

30 psi has never failed me, but I do air down tp 22psi offroad, and back to 30psi at days end. Viaair pump that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket.

Yup, watch your tire pressure every day with the TPMS display. Offroad I leave that on fulltime as it can give you advance warning of slow leaks.

I left mine at what the dealership put them at for a while. I found that if they were high, the dealership didn't touch them. I now have some pretty funky tire wear and had been dealing with steering shake and vibrations which largely went away when I put the air back where it was supposed to be. To be fair, my tires were at like 40 PSI when it was only 75°F out. They're supposed to be at 30 PSI when cold.

Funny how the proper pressure fixed an issue.
