Ahh..the old rolling fish bowl, the AMC Pacer in the rare station wagon version. Lol

I happened upon an AMC car show about a year ago and there amongst the AMX’s, Javelins, Rebels, Hornets and Gremlins sat three Pacers. More people were flocking around those than some of the cool models I listed above.

I dug into my archives for some shots I quickly snapped as I hurried through the show. Just returning from a ride and not wanting to leave the bike unattended for long, so excuse my finger in some of the shots. :)

Even though the AMX has always been my favorite model AMC [as you can tell by the multiple shots of the red one] the rarest of the bunch at this show was the ‘69 red white and blue Hurst / SC Rambler / Rebel. Hurst B scheme. There’s an A scheme and a B scheme of how they did the red white and blue paint scheme.

The A scheme is in the background here.

    Super rare car.

I found this link that shows it….scroll up.

Such cool pieces Mopar came up with in order to sell so many units similar to what they used in Trans Am racing. Each manufacturer had to come up with similar units and sell so many in order to compete in the series. Dodge, Plymouth, Chevy, Ford, AMC all did this.

    Plymouth AAR CUDA above.
    &
    Dodge T/A Challenger

    Both with identical drive trains.
    340 6-BBR
    Or
    340 6-Pack
Just named different per branch. The only models in the Mopar world that came factory small block with 3 two barrel carburetors, unless special ordered.

The six packs were offered on big block 440’s on certain models as well as dual quad four barrel setups on HEMIS. Gotta love Mopar.

I prefer the look of the Plymouth over the Dodge...at least on these E-bodies. The B-body is another story.

I totally agree. I had a 1971 CUDA. So many differences in the bodies yet so many think they are the same. The CUDA has a shorter wheelbase. They also have a nose cone with the hood inside of it whereas the Challenger has the hood that goes all the way forward. The new Challengers body lines have more in common with the CUDA than the old Challengers. Look at the side crease that runs the length of the car. A CUDA has a slight hardly noticeable crease as does the new Challenger. The old Challenger has a very pronounced large crease. The only outward design of the body of the new Challenger to the old one is the taillights and power bulge hood.
