I've been eyeballing the prinsu, I know drilling is required for the access cab, no big deal, what do you guys prefer and why? What do you dislike about the brand of rack you got? There's a ton of options and trying to make sure I make the "right"decision.

    Thanks.

I have an access cab also. I waited and read build threads and others about various options to familiarize myself with them. I ended up installing Rhino ditch tracks that replace most of the moulding with tracks you can mount your choice of racks onto. The tracks are permanent, drilled, bolted with SS button head cap screws backed by SS washers and SS nylock nuts, and sealed but the actual included hardware is mostly the same as the oem rack since it was designed for a double cab. I use Thule bars with QD bases so I can remove or install in a minute or so. As a carpenter I need the option for bars on the cap, cab, or both to carry lumber, ladders etc but any rack system can be mounted to them or swapped to another without further messing with the roof. It wasn’t easy or simple since the curve had to be accentuated and cut down but definitely worth it after several years use. Prinsu is definitely sexier though, I just don’t want anything up there all the time and the tracks look just like the moulding until you’re up close.

That sounds like a really good system, I can't find anything on it, could you please post some pictures?

Post #5 in my build thread(link in sig line)
5-lug, no lift, budget to match build thread
I’ve read that others have done this so how I did it may not be necessary but I don’t think my OCD made it any worse so no regrets. Dropping the headliner is easier in an AC and allowed me to choose how to cut the tracks so their predrilled holes penetrated the roof in more ideal locations rather than at random. It also allowed me to collect the swarf from drilling and use washers and nuts instead of the rivnuts and rivets they came with. It’s probably not much different than installing a Prinsu on an AC other than how you deal with the moulding but the end result has more options.

If you are not looking to drill into your roof you can go the route of a Yakima rack system as I did.

I also prefer the look of a Yakima system over Prinsu (looks like erector set parts IMO).

If I put a rack on my access cab it would be a Sherpa rack. Their foot mounts and rubber feet are a pretty nice design. The rest of the rack is essentially not much different than any other extrusion.
