Cone of shame. Shits gotta happen on a national holiday weekend. Gotta see an eye specialist next week for blood work and set another appointment for a wedge resection on his right eye. Hoping I can get him in asap, sounds like the eye docs are booked up for months.

I used to ref with two different eye surgeons. Both named Dave. One guy was an MD and the other, a DVM. The vet worked at a specialty clinic and he was always talking to the MD about new stuff. I always wondered how those guys found time to ref hockey, they always seemed busy.

Thanks! He goes in for surgery Wednesday the 5th at 11am. Sounds like it's fairly routine.

    Dammit I was so pissed!
Stopped in the city to grab a free local paper it’s one of those little houses with papers in it.
I got the paper and see a real young black lab crossing 5pm traffic!
I walked out in front of 1 lane stopping traffic he came right to me and wanted to be buds. I looked for a tag and none.
I kept him with me for about 10 mins on the sidewalk. Hopefully the owner was looking.
I was just about to throw him in the truck and leave not sure how my dog would have felt but wasn’t gonna let it wonder around in traffic he wasn’t good with cars.
Owner shows up screaming at the pup!
Did you see him jump out the cars window he says.
I say no but this isn’t his fault it’s yours!
Less window open and put some fn tags with # on him.
I still had the dog between my legs. He started cursing the dog etc I told him I’m gonna take him if he can’t be a better owner call the cops I’ll give you my phone #.
He apologizes and agrees but now I think I regret letting him take the pup.
My dog smelled me up and down and went out to look for him damm I hope the pup is treated right!!!

I saved my Lab from a family member who bought her at 10 weeks thinking these are the best dogs for a family. Well, she was too much energy, and they didn't have the time, so she spent most of her time in a box kennel. I got her at 11 months old. Scared to death not knowing what was going on. Well that was a year and a half ago. My truck doesn't roll without her and we are not leash people, except for the store. Treat them with respect and they will return it in spades.DSCN4591.jpg

definitely the Husky in him, our Siberian will dig to China if he thinks there's something under the ground worth catching.

took 7 pics to get Archer to look at me, doesn't like the camera pointed at him.
It was the right eye that had the tumor/growth, all removed and he's back to being his ornery self. Procedure took all of 7 minutes. Vet said they remove a dozen or so of these every day. It was benign.

Fresno lost a K9 the other day when he escaped from his kennel. It happens. And while the pups owner might be mad at the dog, he's probably equally as mad at himself. And can guarantee you, Kimo can open the seat belt latch too--surprise!
