Mine are made out of 2x10s, incrementally cut and stacked. Small bit of rubber on bottom to stop sliding during initial contact.
Heavy AF, but absolutely no chance of failure, rust, melting, cracking, or termites.

Got a little off camber on an incline, shut it off once it started smoking. Double winched the truck up the rest of the obstacle, started it up, idled for 15 seconds and it blew up

For now I'm just slapping another 3.5 in, in the long future I'll probably do a 1jz or turbo k24 or something cool.

That looks sweet. Did it come with the cover for the stock chrome connector? If not, where did you get it? Looks seamless (unlike mine)

Spent this weekend knocking out a couple interior upgrades that I've been meaning to do.

After disabling the useless Qi charger a few weeks ago, I wanted to repurpose its switch to control something cooler. Enter VLEDS aqua footwell lights. Pieced together my own kit with a dimmer and saved $80 over their pnp kit. Came out awesome. Super impressed with these tiny lights.

Next up was to remove the Anytime Backup Camera kit and rewire the front camera directly to the DMH-WC6600NEX. The ABC kit worked fantastic with the stock hu, but was not besties with the Pioneer. I then reflashed my Maestro to have the backup camera come on if I hold down the End Call Button, so I still have a physical button to load the rear camera. Haven't figured out to make it toggle the front camera with a button yet, but hopefully can figure it out soon.

Removing the ABC switch allowed me to install something else in its place so I added the OEM Glass Breakage sensor along with the small style Tundra mic (P/N: 08192-65810). The mic's are exactly the same on the back, but this fits the smaller cutout.

Is there a maintenance step for this item? Have you ever felt this thing it feels very thick and restrictive for air flow.

For the guys who have replaced this with the red TRD air intake is there the same item on the lid? It feels like another air filter.

Per others, removing both the positive and negative cables from the battery and clamping them together for 10 minutes or so will drain the capacitors and "reset/clear" the system memory for a fresh start. Just removing the negative cable for a time will do the same, although it takes longer in my experience. Not dissimilar from replacing the battery.

I think it's supposed to trapped the fuel vapors so the smell doesn't bleed out. If I remember correctly, the TRD version doesn't have the mesh filter.

I removed mine when installing my K&N JR setup.

Thanks y0! The lights at full blast are a little overly sky blue, but dimmed down it matches and covers pretty well.

Here's another shot of the lighting:

The 2016-2019 3rd gen headunits don’t support Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and swapping to an aftermarket head unit you lose some of the OEM features on the instrument cluster info display. Swapping to this essentially retains all the OEM features plus adds carplay functionality
