    I'm seeing conflicting reports.

I know softtopper is the easiest, but doesn't provide the security of a hard shell.

    Is it Alucab?

    What is the question?

What is a good Camper shell that a single person can put on and take off?

    Google jeep top lift.

There's a cheap one that fits on an engine hoist if you already have one (or you could weld up your own)

Alu-Cab toppers have an integrated rail front to rear on both sides.

I’d imagine it would be super easy to attach a Jeep Top lift or a RTT (roof top tent) lift to it.

Honestly the hardest part is going to be mounting the lifting mechanism in the roof of your garage or whatever you’re gonna use it.

    Good luck man,

i think they are all pretty heavy. Going to have to get creative. I back my truck into the garage, and strap the camper to the frame of the roof of the house. Then just drive out of the garage.

$4k is steep. Torn between the GFC topper and Alu-Cab Explorer. Alu-cab is 10 lbs lighter with (3) interior lights. GFC seems like a larger access windows into the bed and can be panels on all sides (no windows). I don't want the ghetto birds peeping Tom into my bed.

I used to turtle the fiberglass shell of my Ranger up a flight of stairs to a storage unit and when I bought a house was able to manage it so I’m not saying it can’t be done but it’s a pain. Could you provide some details on the circumstances if your storage. A garage makes it simple to lift from the corners. I’ve used conduit clamps mounted to the roof tracks. From there you can rig a pully to raise/lower if you can’t store it in that space or you could hang an outrigger from the eave to reach out far enough to do the hoist. Think about what it will be like 10 years from now.

Thanks; Garage. I like the idea of a pully system. It is the way I'm going to go once I purchase. With that said, I initially thought about the manual labor of putting it on and off and storing it in the shed on a platform. 125-135 lb doesn't sound like too much to move within the property. Only reservation is the integrity of the pully system. I'd be furious if the pully system failed; injuring someone in my house. That's a shitty way to go out--crushed by Taco topper. They'd put sour cream on my headstone.

Just don’t use one made for bikes. I’d simply double the weight for the minimum rating I’d buy or diy with wire rope instead.

I've been getting ads for these. Could make it pretty easy if it does what it says it's supposed to

That would be pretty awesome if it performs as advertised. I've seen a few companies starting to integrate things like this into their toppers. Was it the Kimbo Topper that had the legs built into the side of the camper? Very cool. Thanks for the link.
