Is your bumper the Southern Style slimline tube? I'm thinking about that bumper for my truck, how do you like it?

    Also, South Bay here.

Yes, and it took hella long to be delivered. But I like the bumper, I went with the tube style because it was supposed to be lighter. My only issue was the instructions on cutting the bumper. After the cut, the metal bumper still touches/rubs the plastic bumper. So I need to remove it and trim more. My advice would be to have a friend help you install.

Thanks, that's good info to have. A friend has the Southern Style slimline, without the side bits, and I'm on the fence about a minimal rack like that, or something a bit wider like yours. In the end I want to keep foglights though, so nothing that cuts higher than those.

When I did the 4.88 conversion, two things. First, getting off the line and driving seemed smoother. Seems like my fuel mileage is "better" although I haven't done a lot of traveling yet. It's also a little more "jerky" off the line as well--this is more likely due to the Pedal Commander I added.

Overall, I am very satisfied, as I'm sure others are, with the upgrade. I also updated to lockers front and rear.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure I’m making the right decision before dropping 3,300$ just on a re-gear. I have no lockers, probably could get a new quote for that too.

For sure. But if you go to a shop like Shaffer’s, they can point you in the right direction. Both ratio wise and locker wise. Mike is experienced and has built a number of Tacomas.

I've seen this truck a few times around my neighborhood. Finally talked to the owner. Original owner. Bought new from Palo Alto. Only has ~170k miles. 1983 Toyota Pick Up

Making the trek from Seattle to the Bay Area via I-5 to I-80 with a possible stop in Roseville/Sac. Leaving June 5th for a Bay Area arrival on June 7th. Bed and roof rack will be empty. PM me if you need something moved (parts, bicycles, misc. items).

Sup y’all! I know there’s a bunch of Tacos out there in the bay. Looking for a group that’ll be down to hit trails or even just meet up and chill.

Anyone out there? Let me know!

We are having a car show fundraiser for one of my friends who passed away recently. We will be having food drinks and multiple raffles like an inspired overland roof top tent. The date is July 15th starting at 10. Would greatly appreciate if you guys can show up and support a good cause. Sincerely Edgar
