Looking to Buy a cheap 8 inch under seat sub like a Rockville or kicker hideaway . Currently have kicker 6x9 s and some tweeters but want some bass . From what I under stand I need to use the high level inputs . Just wondering what speaker or speakers I need to tap into . Was hoping to use rears but not sure if signal is strong enough ?

On the VW, I used taps out of the passenger rear speaker. Bass is mostly mono so you don’t need both L&R channels. My Tacoma HU is aftermarket. I use the sub out rca. Pics below.

How do you like this unit?? It is on my radar as an option due to the minimal space under the power seats. TIA.

It is a good unit for filling in the low end. Easy to hookup and tune. In the VW I just tap into existing 12 VDC. In the Tacoma I ran a wire (and fuse) to the battery. I had already added seat heaters, lights & dash camera so was worried about overall capacity. Regardless, I can go much lower and louder than I like. It is not the unit, if you want the people in the next car to feel your music.

Sounds like what I am looking for. Oh, so you ran it in your Taco too...I just reread your post and see that. It fit under your seat good? I have power, so there is less room under there... I need to go brave the cold and measure.

The music is for me, not them ;)
