Same here, but my wife HATES sawdust of any kind. She loves my Festool collection. Of course I’ll never let on what they cost, she’d skin me alive…

 

That's the two reasons why I built myself a shop in the back. Had to build it myself cause I could keep costs down.. and she hates messes and sawdust, so I had to build something and get the hell out of the garage

 

I mentioned a domino joiner (been wanting one for years) and my husbands like ‘go get one ffs!’ Twisted my arm..

 

My girl is very understanding of me and my wood working. I already had my shop all set up in the basement of my house before we started dating so she knew what she was getting into, lol. But she is also very crafty and does a lot of sewing etc, we have many sewing machines. So we don't step on each other's toes. We don't tell each other what we can or cannot do. The basement and the garage are mine, the upstairs of the house is hers to do what she wants with. I come home from work sometimes and she will have painted a room or something, I just let her do her thing and she let's me do mine. The outside of the house is hers too, I mow the lawn and she plants all the flowers etc. I jokingly call her the beautification committee.

 

Hey my wife let me have my gun collection.

All tools are decently easy to justify.........my wife would just pick the lowest price tag until I show her the benefits of better tools. I draw the line on dollars myself. I mainly do outdoor stuff like fences and gates not fine crafts like you guys I will start some simpler crafty stuff when my shop is set up.

Retired, need $ for traveling the world and buying a MB Sprinter.

 

You are gonna need some of those finer tools for outfitting the sprinter van! I’m super jealous of that build cause it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. My only gripe is the towing capacity on those things leave a lot to be desired

My wife loves to propagate succulents. She saw these somewhere and asked me to make one. The test tubes arrived the other day. Got out some scrap wood today and made a few. Walnut, cherry, maple, and mahogany.

 

I have used a Magswitch feather board since I got my table saw in 2017. It is super convenient.

 

And a hand surgeon on voice command auto dial.

Serious question: I am suddenly needing a SMALL square. My combo square is too large and well not that square, my two speed squares are too large. Looking for something like 3-4" for checking blade set up.

While I'm begging for tips, any other squares, layout tools, ht/depth for table saw blade ht and the router table bit - anything like that you recommend, I'm like sponge. I get by with two old combination squares, have for years.

Speaking of feather boards does anyone have suggestions for small to medium ones that will fit t-slot. I think thats what they’re called. Not the 3/8x 3/4” miter slots. I just have the cordless Milwaukee which is pretty damn small and an older 10”. Both kept in truck. Ive noticed some featherboards are probably more sized for shop saws
