Any idea how that happened? Just a faulty temp sensor?

No idea but the readings from it didnt match up with the thermometer. The resistance values never dropped below the specs I found in the lingenfelter chart for their controller. It was basically always on.

I have thought about adding an electric fan, blur I don’t think I would completely replace the clutch fan. They may not be wonderful in traffic, but they nearly always work, unlike an electric fan.

So I got ahold of the company selling these and they stated they no longer make the kits, cause the guy selling them here moved to a different company and he was the one who organized it all. Hopefully he comes back here one day and starts making these again, cause it's the best option for electric cooling out there for us right now. Sad days.

If you find a way to mount the fan you can source everything else. The 3d printed mounts from the kit are ok but it can be done better imo.

    I agree.

I purchased this kit, a few years ago, but when I installed it, I did not love the mounts (will sell them if anyone is interested). I discovered that the fan provided in the kit, could pretty easily be cut round, and at very close to the diameter of the factory shroud. Better still, I discovered that after cutting the kit shroud to diameter, it included some narrow cavities at the new edge, that nicely trapped a nut. I purchased nuts and larger wafer head bolts, and fastened the kit electric fan into the factory Toyota shroud. Pretty slick, with the benefit of a more factory look, and the considerable benefit of installing about an inch farther from the front of the motor; meaning changing belts will be easier.

I also cut the kit vent-flaps and cut and riveted them to the Toyota shroud, to increase free air, sealed up the holes at the radiator support (similar to a TSB for air conditioner trouble when going slow) and placed the T-sensor on the radiator outlet, such that the fan only runs when there is not already enough cooling from the "Free Airflow". Mounted the kit fan flush to the front face of the factory shroud, sealed the gap with smoothly applied RTV Black. Very happy with the performance!!
